excuse me but isnt this a Christian site? why are there a whole bunch of buddists, athiests, etc on here? they have nothing but bad things to say, so why are there so many trolls on here?

to those who arent in the know, there is only One True God, and that is the Lord Jesus. and i completely agree, without God we wouldnt know what to do. we would be sinning great sins all over the place! thats why God gave us the 10 commandments to follow, and why He sent his only Son to die for us. its a very simple to understand, but man comes and tries to muck everything up and confuse people, making it seem like being bad is "good". how depraved that is.

Yes.

why are there a whole bunch of buddists, athiests, etc on here?
Why not?

they have nothing but bad things to say, so why are there so many trolls on here?
False statement, sweeping generalizations.

to those who arent in the know, there is only One True God, and that is the Lord Jesus.
Excuse me, I do believe the One True God: Allah.

and i completely agree, without God we wouldnt know what to do. we would be sinning great sins all over the place!
I know. Look at all those women with their head uncovered! It's blasphemous to say the least. We should point society back to Allah.

thats why God gave us the 10 commandments to follow, and why He sent his only Son to die for us. its a very simple to understand,
"Complex problems have simple, easy to understand, wrong answers."

but man comes and tries to muck everything up and confuse people, making it seem like being bad is "good". how depraved that is.
I know. Good thing we have Allah on our side.

There is a Christian only section where you don't have to hear from us, honest.

For those that like to talk to us, we are here. Just like in real life.

And weirdo is relative. ;)

Morality does exist without God. However, without a foundation for your morality, yours will be weak. And what better foundation than God himself?

If God doesn't exist, then clearly a different one.

Certain boards on this site are Christian-only, and others (such as this one) are open to non-Christian posters.

why are there a whole bunch of buddists, athiests, etc on here?

It's a small world.

I have little difficulty making good moral judgments and living moderately.

It's the ones who claim that without god we would all be running around raping and pillaging that you have to worry about. ;)

I joined this thread late and did not read the first 1000 comments. However, …

I think that if one accepts the premise that God exists, then the Bible presents a logical and sane and objective moral standard for the entire human race. If there is not a sole author and source of objective morality, then are moral distinctions simply the product of the subjective impulse of human beings? If the answer to that question is yes, then how does a society at large prevent opposite thoughts from both being “right” or “wrong”? Isn’t that what morality is really about, “right” or “wrong”?

Yes this is a Christian site. And in case you haven't noticed, you are posting in the Society/Ethics & Morality section. This is the open section for believers and non-believers. There is a Christian only section higher up.

Disagreeing with Christianity doesn't make one a troll. I assure you, many of the atheists here are nice respectable people (so far as I can tell from the internet).

Plenty of people can live moral lives without your beliefs. Just because they disagree with your understanding of what constitutes "sin" doesn't mean they are immoral or amoral.

You yourself break at least 1 of the 10 commandments every week. Does that make you immoral?

I think most of us feel that way. However, can you share with us what standard you use to know whether you made a "good moral judgment".

Many many people have used the Bible as justification to commit the worst attrocities in human history. How does one reconcile that with objective morality? They just interpreted it wrong? If that's the case, who says how you interpret it today is correct?
Maybe that's why Jesus summed up the law with 2 commands, love God and love everyone else. It's rather hard to be immoral if everything is based on love.
