• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is there ANY solid creation evidence?

You are very wrong from the beginning.

I can give you a full two-hour lecture on this three words.

If fact, this three word is a super perfect start of the (or any) creation account. No one, or any other religion, can do it any better than that.
Super-irrelevant.

Why is it called the earth, then?

Does the Bible say anything about the creation of the angels? Based on my search, they aren't even mentioned until Genesis 16 or something  Besides, angels don't do much creating, do they?

If I'm omnipotent, I can make them so they don't screw up.

Your subjective opinion. I think a water ball is quite nice :p Besides, who said that I have to create our world to start with? If we're talking metaphysics anyway, why can't I make a world where an infinite, bottomless cosmic ocean is possible? Open your mind, let your creativity soar ;)

Not at all, it is not my opinion. I could not even imagine that I would have that "opinion". It is all told by the Gen 1. The water world in your imagination is, in fact, described in the creation account Day 1 and Day 2 (but not on Day 3). Except the "water" would be better understood as physical water, but not as chemical water. For example, the H gas on the sun is "like" water.

Your imagination is actually pretty impressive.

I personally think American creationists are doing a wonderful job, no one could even come close to doing a better job of undermining the US, and doing it in full view in broad daylight as well, go creationists.

Am I being selfish? perhaps just a little.
"Selfish" is perhaps just a little too polite.

If you are who I think you are, and you're from where I think you're from, you guys tried to undermine this Christian nation twice and got pwned.

If you want to play my-country-is-better-than-yours, we'll be glad to fish one of your flags out of Lake Erie and mount it on one of your largest mosques in Europe.

Just saying -- ;)
You know, I love Britain, but in that game, I'd root for you ^_^

Not at all, it is not my opinion. I could not even imagine that I would have that "opinion". It is all told by the Gen 1.
I didn't say the story in Genesis was your opinion. What is your opinion is that this story is better than any other.

The water world in your imagination is, in fact, described in the creation account Day 1 and Day 2 (but not on Day 3).
Then why did you criticise the idea of the cosmic ocean? ^_^

Except the "water" would be better understood as physical water, but not as chemical water. For example, the H gas on the sun is "like" water.
"Water" is a chemical, I'm afraid. And the hydrogen on the sun is plasma. Not much like water at all.

Your imagination is actually pretty impressive.
Thanks

Here's another one: In the beginning, God created people so he wouldn't be so lonely in the primal void. But the void was a bleak, dark place, and the humans God created felt miserable in it. In their sadness, they weren't good company after all. To cheer them up, God made a vast, colourful world and placed them in it. From that day, people bless God for giving them life and giving them this world, and God delights in his creation, no longer lonely.

(My goodness, you're quite an inspiration ^_^ I just hope I won't run into this story in someone else's writing! :p)

Why do you keep comparing your creation story to those of other religions? Shouldn't it go without saying that your creation story is light-years ahead of those human fairytales?

I, likewise, claim there is no evidence for the Creation event, and even prove it with a challenge, and I shouldn't be here?

Except you debunked your challenge with your own words

Who cares right now?

I'm talking about coccospheres.

I could not help, but notice. You have posted more than 1.6 million posts on these forums?

How many people have you led to Christ with the sheer amount of time you have put in?

As far as I know -- zero.

If that's an indication of my efficacy as a witness, then I'm in the same 'boat' as Noah, aren't I?

To match his record, I would have to be on here for another 114 years.

It doesn't bother you that Paul had such a great yield in Acts, though? I thought people were supposed to be vessels for the converting power of the Holy Spirit, and yet despite all of this, no one has ever been swayed by what you've said?

Would you like to compare your Friends List to mine?

I've been here almost six years now.

Years ago, CF had an option that, when someone joined this forum, they could claim a member here as a sponsor.

I'm not sure what that entailed, but two people -- both I didn't know from Adam -- showed up and claimed me as the reason they joined CF.

One of the two did it anonymously, the other has since left, but she does make a cameo appearance once in a very blue moon.

I don't particularly care to toot my own horn, but I also get the feeling some people come here to single me out, because there's another site dedicated to posting "ridiculous" posts made by fundamentalists, and apparently I'm one of the more popular ones there.

I guess -- I don't know -- and don't really care.

Perhaps some other posters can vouch for me, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

ETA: I could also show you some of the comments made in the past when I've been given reps, but I don't want to gloat too much.

I've said enough already.

Yes, you are quite a hit on Fundies Say the Darndest Things.

I wouldn't measure your impact based on your reps and CF friends list, however.
Is there a point you'd like to make? if so, fire away. I can take it. ;)

I am not playing my-country-is-better-than-yours or anything like it, I am just puzzled as to why other Americans haven't run you all out of town for trying to damage the US.
I thought Americans loved their country but it would seem that they don't if they sit back and allow their fellow Americans to undermine it and bring it into disrepute.

Creationist are most certainly the enemy within.

Anarchists are bad but creationists are worse and it's all being done in the name of some mythical entity.

Europe did that with another group of creationists, and the U.S. made 10 amendments to the Constitution to keep people with the mindset like you have from bringing their pogroms over here.

Forget what happened years ago, I am talking about what's being done today in the US by US citizens against other US citizens.

That's why I said I thought creationists were doing a wonderful job.

It matters very little to me I just made a comment.

Every country in the world has it's fair share of uneducated deadbeats, I just thought people in the US would object to some of their fellow citizens deliberatly making more.
