  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I saw Rod Stewart for the first time at the Fillmore East sometime in 1968. I had no idea who he was before that night. He was singing in a new band with this guy named Jeff Beck on guitar. Ron Wood on bass. Micky Waller on drums. And, Nicky Hopkins on piano.

I believe it was their stateside debut of the newly formed Jeff Beck Group. The group was second billing that night. The Greatful Dead was the headliner band. Well? After Jeff Beck's band finished and the Dead had taken stage and began playing? We got up and walked out after a few minutes. Rod Stewart's excellent singing and the whole band's playing was absolutely amazing.

That was also the year I prayed for salvation.

Grace and peace, GeneZ

High time we had a music thread in here anyhow!
Good idea thanks to hogndog. Hey JOE!
ANYthing to do with music:
Favorite songs, musicians, instruments..
How you feel about music
What Scripture says about music..
And some feedback to see if anyone has
similar tastes in music...

So Rate the song above you, and be honest
it's all just for fun ...
Give it a rating from one to five (does that
sound fair?)

I'll start.
Here's one of my favorite tunes
(and I know NObody will like this one lol)

YouTube - Boney M Brown Girl In The Ring (1978)
Ha! I wonder if this is where the Wiggles (children's group) got "Brown Girl in the Ring" from that they would sing on their tv shows. :D
