  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi all I had an interesting day. My son had a chance to ski in the Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sport event today on our local mountain. I debated about it but then took the day off work to accompany him. It was a big event with disabled and non disabled skiers involved in ski racing. He was part of a 4 person team but the only disabled skier on that team. I ended up working registration at the bottom of the gondola as skiers checked in etc. and then headed up to help up top on the mountain to prepare for the banquet etc. I didn't actually get to see him ski which was disappointing but I was glad I was there for the after party. I think he enjoyed himself. I am tired though as I was up at about 4 am to get him and I ready.

That is what a friend said to me at work the day before. she used to work full time with my son and is "subbing" at the moment at our school. She urged me to "go for it" and I am glad she did. Today work went well and I went to the gym afterward. I think I will have a quiet evening. Jan

Hi everyone. I spent most of the day with Kittystorm and Benjamin. I helped her with the dance she is doing for the recital. I also got Benjamin to try the dance the 3 smaller girls were doing. He didn't do too bad. I'm trying to get Kitty to teach him the dance so he can be on stage too.

 Hello everyone..this is the first time I've looked at this thread..I tend to forget to look at those ones thta are always above the ones below..if you see what I mean LOL:confused:

My daughter-in-law is expecting her second child any day now...am on tenterhooks - this will be our fifth grandchild. My one son said he'd never get married or have kids. Hah! This will be his 4th kid.
She was sposed to have a Ceasarion cos the baby hadn't utrned, but luckily it did eventually, so hopefully she'll be able to have a normal birth after all.
Can't WAIT for spring now. :)

tansy nice to see you again. You must be very excited and I suppose a bit concerned at first but it is great that the baby has turned around. Let us know when the 'blessed event' occurs. I don't even have one gchild yet. Oh well God knows when I and the boys will be ready to handle the responsibility of having a family. Jan

I wish I could get back to doing ceramics. I really enjoyed that. But the women that held classes in her home moved and I really don't have the time to do it.
Have a good day. I hope to see you later during lunch. That's if the boss leaves for lunch today.

We learned today, that the department responsible for cooking the pots
is closing the site
Effectively, then our ceramics class will terminate at the end of next-term
ie: at the end of the 2008/2009 financial year

This will give us ten weeks further of class attendance
following the end of this 'term'
or, somehere, between 16/17 weeks from now

What a great shame that is.....
to all whom have enjoyed their time at the class
I wish I could afford to purchase and run a kiln
I would keep the class GOING... from here

Perhaps He, has other things in store for us in future

My daughter-in-law just went to hospital about half an hour ago to give birth.
My husband was going to drive her in the car, but she couldn't get in, she was in so much pain. We called an ambulance in the end..I really began to think she was going to give birth at home..she coudn't even manage to get to the ambulance for ages. I'm sure it was getting relatively close.
I need to go to bed because her other little boy will prob wke up about 7, so I.ll have to see to him, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep, cos I'll be waiting for the phone call to say she's had the baby. But I DO need to get some sleep. Oooooooh! Exciting!
