If they are going to limit the amount of items requiring us to sell stuff back to change outfits I can handle this......

But......

Are we selling stuff back at full price or at a loss ?

I.E. the people that do the dress up contest all the times will be loosing out quite a bit if they have to sell & rebuy & resell & rebuy there stuff over & over.

I havent and wont be changing till this is straightened out. I have literally hundreds of items ive paid plenty of blessings for over the years and it wouldnt be fair to lose all that. Ive been here at CF for 5 years and been purchasing armory items (several of which were created by me while working in the armory which is why i also purchased them) FOR YEARS. This would amount to a substantial loss for me and people like me who have done this for years.

Its already bad enough that i lost a pet that was fully mature and had to start over and its already cost me over 10,000 blessings to train my pet and they are still not even at half way maturity. I noticed also to play arcade games (what little there are) will cost 1000 blessings but no way to win blessings either.

No offense but its starting to feel like this place is becoming quite the racket since it would require almost constant SS and purchse of more and more blessings not only to upkeep the "toys" we have but to also rebuy what we already had and are now being asked to give up thousands upon thousands blessings worth of items we already paid for with SS blessings over the years.

Unbelievable. How is this a FIX?

I'm sorry,. I honestly don't know what to say. There were problems with browsers crashing due to the large number of items members have. SirAdrian came up with a way to fix that problem for members.

We are trying to do right by members but for each member we please another is displeased with that decision.

As IM Chief, I am happy to reimburse anyone for lost blessings.

I wouldn't like to see a scenario where people ended up paying actual money because they needed to re-buy items that they already bought before and were forced to return. That really would not be right.

Under the current system, the items cost practically nothing in blessings, and most people have scads of blessings, so it's not a problem at present. But as I say, it wouldn't be right if people end up paying real money to get back things they already purchased and were forced to return just in order to use the feature.

It takes a very long time to sell back all those items, btw. I did my friend's from 114 to 50 and it took over a half an hour.

Also, 50 isn't really enough at all. As someone else said, the character body parts take up a lot of that. You can't really have enough stuff on the page to be able to do the playing around it takes to make a nice picture, with only 50. If they could up it to at least 100, it'd work better.

I had 387 items in my armour before the upgrade. I loved changing outfits and participating in multiple dress up contests. (I kept a word document list)

Sir Adrian emptied out my avatar for me and now I only have what is showing. I don't mind returning and rebuying items as long as there is no or very little cost. But if the prices return to where they were before the upgrade, I probably won't be participating in all the dress up contests that I really enjoyed in the past.

I loved the dress up contests. I loved seeing everyone's creativity and the fellowship and encouragement that we shared with each other in the "contests" was priceless. It didn't matter if we won or lost.....it was just pure clean fun.

Please reconsider and if we can't have the multiple items we had in the past in our wardrobe, at least make the cost at little or none for the members.

I think one of the things which needs to be decided is whether each armory item is going to have a set number available, after which it is 'out of stock', as it used to be pre-upgrade. If this becomes the case again, folk may be reluctant to sell back special items which they enjoy using, as they may not be able to buy them again at a later date, depending how the 'in and out of stock' thing is set up. So a higher limit for items one can have would be great and 300 seems like a reasonable number to me.

I don't mind if the old prices for armory are restored as long as there is a reasonable chance to purchase items and get to keep them, (ie, by being able to have more than 50 items) as many of those items cost a fair bit, not counting the extremely expensive stuff which has disappeared for the moment, anyway. I don't think it's fair to have to re-buy stuff if the old armor prices are put in place again. I'd also like to see the old prices for armor reinstated because I think the other really important thing is to bring back the ability to bless others with armory items. This would give folk the opportunity to bless others and the Armor Exchange sub-forum would see some action again. I used to love holding free armor giveaways for folk, but the no cost buzz plus the inability to give items to others has put a stop to giveaways, as it has to all exchanges over there.

Adrian is probably either with new baby right now or new baby is coming any day. We've asked that the ability to bless armor anonymously be added. And I know people don't like the item limit. But it's all about the server and loading times. We'll try to get it raised, but it may never be enough to make people truly happy. But we'll try to get it raised at least some.

meh...i think we would all love 200-300 items if possible...if not..ATLEAST 100 is necessary...really..50 is too low.

As far as losing everything..ya it stinks..but at this point i am just relieved to have my avatar cleared so i can actually USE my avatar..i did have over 600 items before the new CF came along..and i had invested 109,000 blessings in items..if someone wants to give it back..ill gladly take it..i have PROOF of it..i saved my items list before the FALL. Let me know what to do if there IS a way to get my blessings back?

As far as this low limit..its imperative that we can sell back at FULL PRICE if the limits are going to be this low. thanks.

You know, this is what I don't get. The whole point of this upgrade was to get rid of the jury-rigged code that overloaded the servers, make features more in line with standard vbb, and make adding new features so easy to accomplish without overtaxing resources.

And in the meantime, it's been months and months, features aren't back in place, and the servers are still so incredibly overloaded that ridiculous limits have to be put on the features that many members want the most.

This makes no sense to me. The state of the site is worse now than it was six months ago, and apparently server stability is only achieved by removing features. And here I thought that was the whole point.

If there are no limits to the number of items available and the return price is 100% of then original cost then the limit is moot. We would all essentially have the whole armory as a closet.

Under the old system I think you only got 1/3 of the cost when returning an item.

It would be nice to raise the limit to 150 or 200 so you don't have to trade/shop everytime you do a new contest...

Thoughts,
Ty

Ty,
i do see your point that if the sell back is at 100% then we have a virtual CF closet..we might as well stay with each item being 0 to 1 blessing instead..which stinks..BUT on the other hand..with a low limit of 50..we'd be selling stuff back constantly..if the limit must stay at 50 or 100..then i say maybe the sell back should be at 95% not 100% but definitely not at 1/3 ...know what i am saying?
