Ok...I was sure that I started this thread earlier today but I can't see it so I'm starting it again
So do you swear? What if someone you are dating asked you to stop? Would you do it?
I've met a guy who seems really nice, kind, tender hearted, just getting started back at church, smart, we have a lot in common but he swears, a lot and I don't like it. I rarely ever swear and I don't want to be with someone who makes it a habit.
I asked him about it and he said that he is trying to clean up his language. He works in construction and it is part of that environment but he told me that he has a bigger vocabulary than that and really needs to break the habit.
I would be mortified if he went to a family event and let a swear word loose - my parents would fall over from shock I think....also, I wouldn't want him to swear if we were at a business function of mine, etc.
So would you continue to date this person if you had such an aversion to swearing and give him a chance to clean up his language?
I know that this may not be a big deal to some but it really is a deal breaker for me. I can understand a slip now and again but I don't like it as part of someone's daily language.
Ok...discuss
