Ok--a few days ago, we had some fun with some silly trivia. Now, let's try these. These are different, and will require some thought. This test is called "So You Think You Know Your Bible." Take this test, but you can NOT use your Bible!! See how well you can do!

1. How many animals of each kind did Noah take with
him on the ark?

2. Who cut Samson's hair?

3. Who rode to heaven in a firey chariot?

4. This one is a little harder. What is wrong with
this verse? "- - -beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks- - -"

5. This one is a whole lot easier! Is the book of
Hezekiah in the Old or the New Testament?

6. Who was the first king of Israel? Warning-trick
question!

7. This has been called the ultimate Bible triva
question. If you can answer this one-you REALLY know
your Bible! Here it is: Most Bible students know
that Methuselah lived longer than anyone else in the
Bible (969 years), yet HE DIED BEFORE HIS FATHER!!
How can this be? The statement is completely true-can
you explain it?

1. How many animals of each kind did Noah take with
him on the ark?

Most people answer 2. And this is incorrect. The correct answer is 7 pair of the clean animals, and 1 pair of the unclean.

Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee seven and seven, the male and his female; and of the beasts that are not clean two, the male and his female:
Gen 7:3 of the birds also of the heavens, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth

2. Who cut Samson's hair?

The most common answer is Deliah, and yes, that is also incorrect!

Jdg 16:19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and shaved off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

3. Who rode to heaven in a firey chariot?

Most people will answer Elijah (yes, I did too!), but that is not right. My grandfather's family bible even as a painting of this, but it never happened!

2Ki 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, which parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

4. This one is a little harder. What is wrong with
this verse? "- - -beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks- - -"

The answer is absolutely nothing! The problem here is that this verse is better known:

Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

But the quoted verse is here:

Isa 2:4 And he will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

5. This one is a whole lot easier! Is the book of
Hezekiah in the Old or the New Testament?

Uh, neither?? Hezekiah was a king of Judah in the OT.

6. Who was the first king of Israel? Warning-trick
question!

Like I said, this is a trick question. Obviously, we all answer Saul, and yes, he was the first king authorized by God, but:

Jdg 9:6 And all the men of Shechem assembled themselves together, and all the house of Millo, and went and made Abimelech king, by the oak of the pillar that was in Shechem.

And yes, this was a mistake! They were told so in the very next verse!

7. This has been called the ultimate Bible triva
question. If you can answer this one-you REALLY know
your Bible! Here it is: Most Bible students know
that Methuselah lived longer than anyone else in the
Bible (969 years), yet HE DIED BEFORE HIS FATHER!!
How can this be? The statement is completely true-can
you explain it?

I love this one. It seems so impossible, yet it is true, because, obviously, you must know who the father of Methuselah was! And, it was Enoch, who never died!

Gen 5:21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
Gen 5:22 and Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
Gen 5:23 and all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
Gen 5:24 and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Well, how did you do? I will be honest, I got only one--the first one!
