The only thing an evolutionist can be certain of is that he can never be certain of anything.
For now, evolutionists are sitting pretty. They hold the reigns of power in the academy, they control federal research funds, and they have unlimited access to the media. But, like English colonialists trying to keep a colony in check, they are in a distinct minority. A feature of colonialism is that colonists are always vastly outnumbered by the people they are controlling and that maintaining control depends on keeping the requisite power structures in place. The reason intelligent design has become such a threat is that it is giving the majority of Americans, who don’t buy the atheistic picture of evolution peddled in all the textbooks, the tools with which to effectively challenge the evolutionists’ power structures.

its a conspiracy!!! the man is keeping us down man!!! to say evolution is the majority opinion among scientists is an understatement. Among scientists in a relevant field it's 99.9% which is as close to unanimous as you can reasonably get about any idea.

Not really, it's the wrongful application of the added 14th Amendment that causes the Bill of Rights to be wrongfully applied by the Federal Government to the states. Originally, ONLY the Bill of Rights applied to controlling the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT's power, and not bind local or state laws or regulations. It could be argured though, that government in a free society has no right to manipulate or control education, which should be in the control of families, businesses, churches, and communities. Under such conditions, the traditions of such communities, churches, firms, and families would hold sway. The Federal & State government would be free to be indifferent; however, with NO power to create indifferent communities.

Great, so that way if a group of Muslims decide they like the community you already live in they can move there, form a majority and change the laws so that you are not allowed to have your religion within the village boundaries. They'll teach Muslim creation in the schools to your children. Place Ramadan celebrations and such on the city calendars. Christmas is OUT. You'll either have to move or just put up with it as that's the world you want to live in.

So it has nothing to do with being convinced by evidence, how could it!, it is all about having a mindset that they are so attached to that they can no longer admit reality.

I had always assumed this to be the case, but it is still nice to have the creationists admit it on this thread.

Really renders this whole board pointless though because it is obvious that most of them would not admit the evidence for evolution even is the great JC himself came down on a cloud and gave them a lecture on it.
