  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A religious is to further the cause of a group.

Is the "March of Dimes" a religious group? AAA? USBC (United States Bowling Congress, I'm a bowler)?

I only want to further the cause of 1 entity who loves you.

What entity? Evidence please.

Then virtually every single group is a religion. Congratulations on rendering the word useless.

As Chalnoth said, all we see is a group of people claiming that this loving entity exists. We also see Muslims, Hindus, and, yes, Wiccans. What makes yours any different?

My God has accurately predicted world events 1000's of years in advance.

I will tell you some near future events because of my knowlege of the Bible.
Israel is gonna be attacked by a coalition of Arab Nations in the next 2 years. They will be beaten but will kill so many Israelis the bodies will take months to bury.

Iran will be turned to Rubble for the most part in this small war.

And Israel will occupy most of Lebanon after it is over.

I challenge you to demonstrate that any prophecy in the Bible that has been truely fulfilled. Bear in mind that self-fulfilling prophecies and so-vague-they-could-mean-anything prophecies don't count, for obvious reasons. Nor do links to websites; I can do that myself.
My prediction? That you can't.

I also bet that my request will be seconded by every other non-Christian (and even some Christians) on this board.

As an aside, what do you say to the failed Biblical prophecies? The Jewish Messiah being named Jesus instead of Immanuel, for example.
What about the logical contradictions in the Bible? The contradicting stories about the woman/women going to Jesus' (empty) tomb, for example.

Also, technically, a prophecy in the Bible that truely came true would only be evidence of the paranormal abilities of the prophet. That the Judaeo-Christo-Muslim God is the source of the prophecy would still be unevidenced.

So, what, you predict that groups of Arabs will attack other groups of Arabs? Because that's been happening for millenia. Your predictions may come true, but not because of some supernatural power.

Evidence for this prediction being made 1000s of years ago, please - and not just an interpretation of the Bible based on current events.

"A great army will be defeated."

Where does it say he would be named Immanuel??His name actually in the original language was Yeshua.
The greeks call the name Yehusas
Yehusas translated to english became Jesus.
Name translations do not change what the Bible says.

What contradiction Chapter and verse please:scratch:

2 Timothy 2 : 23Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

What does this have to do with any of my post?

Useful get out clause when he has lost an argument.

Just claims that it is Christian forbearance that stops him/her from cleaning your clock.

It has happened on a number of threads now

Yes, I thought I recognised the reference to his sig from somewhere.

But what I love is that he only pays attention to 2T2:23 when he wants to stop. When he wants to debate, he just omits that verse from his Bible.

 To add to the uniqueness of the platypus, studies of its mtDNA forced evolutionists to give upon mtDNA to 'prove' evolution. The studies showed that it was closer to eutherian mammals (cows, men, etc.) than the marsupials (kangaroos, koalas).

A creationist plagiarizing? I am SHOCKED!

Of course, as others have mentioned, this is just plain stupid. Platypus are not marsupials, which are mammals by the way, so there is not an issue at all.

If I were you, I would be upset that my handlers are so quick to lie to me.

I've always thought of the platypus as a great example of a transition species between reptiles and mammals.

One side says our understanding of DNA proves Evolution.

The other newer studies say DNA disproves evolution.

one side says the earth is flat, the other side says its round. Both claim science is in their favor. having two sides does not mean both sides are equally representational or accurate. Theirs more to having an equal argument then having a side.

Agreed

in the June 1 issue of The Astrophysical Journal. This time researchers using NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope said they found a huge, ghostly “ring” of dark matter in a galaxy cluster called Cl 0024+17, five billion light-years from Earth, again thanks to a collision. NASA billed the finding as some of “the strongest evidence yet” for dark matter.

Yet problems keep cropping up, McGaugh wrote. A study in the May 10 issue of Science found that the bizarre gravitational effects attributed to dark matter were showing up even where they weren’t expected to under dark matter theory itself. Modified gravity theory—according to which gravity is stronger on intergalactic scales than the standard laws of gravity suggest—explained the puzzle neatly, he wrote.

That was incoherent. Can you clean it up and provide the source?
