  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes Yes I know ADONAI. Maybe a kind mod would be able to edit that. I give permission, this time. :)

I would like to bless you all with the study I did on holiness, as defined by our Apostles. I compiled all the verses in every letter of our NT that dealt with holiness and how it pertained to 'us'. It's a long read, but it leaves quite a humbling impression on those who are seriously seeking kadosh l'adonai, holiness unto the Lord.

This is how the Apostles defined Holiness and how it applied to our relationship with God through Messiah.

Enjoy.

If you love Yeshua you will obey his commandments. We are made pure and holy by the teaching of his Word. (John)

To be cleansed from our sins we must have faith, turn from those sins, and turn to God to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we will be able to preach God’s message with boldness. (Acts)

The Holy Spirit fills our hearts with God’s love. You must choose to be slaves to righteousness so that you will become holy. Those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. If the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace. Through the power of the Holy Spirit you turn from sin and it’s evil ways. We are God’s children. We were born again by His Spirit and if His Spirit is holy and lives in us, we will be holy too. Our bodies are God’s not our own. We cannot do with them what we want, but should live a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans)

We are called by God to be his own holy people. He made us holy by means of Ha Moshiach Yeshua, just as he did all Messianics everywhere. Whoever calls on the name of Yeshua is made holy. God alone makes it possible for us to believe in Ha Moshiach Yeshua. He is the one who makes us acceptable to God. He makes us pure and holy. We are God’s temple and God’s temple is holy. Our sins have been washed away and we have been made right with God because of what Yeshua Ha Moshiach and the Spirit of Eloheinu have done for us. Again, our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and was given to us by God. We do not belong to ourselves. As the apostles did, so should we be proved by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, our sincere love and the power of the Holy Spirit. We are promised to Ha Moshiach as a pure pride. (Corinthians)

God gives us the Holy Spirit and miracles because we believe in the message we heard about the Messiah. Through faith we receive the promised Holy Spirit. We who are born of the Holy Spirit are persecuted by those who want us to keep the law, they live by their old sinful nature thinking they can be purified and cleansed by the law through their flesh, rather than the Spirit. We live according to our new life in the Holy Spirit, not doing what our old sinful nature craves. The old sinful nature loves to do evil, which is opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite from the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, and our choices are never free from this conflict. But when we are directed by the Holy Spirit, we are no longer subject to the law. When we followed the desires of our sinful nature, our lives produced; sexual immorality, impure thought, eagerness for lustful pleasures. But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. But we are living now by the Holy Spirit, we should follow the Holy Spirits leading in every part of our lives. (Galatians)

God loves us and through Yeshua we are holy and without fault. When we believed in Yeshua, he made us his own and gave us his Holy Spirit. We who believe in Yeshua are becoming a holy temple for God. We are a new person created in God’s likeness, righteous holy and true. We should not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way we live. We can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of the Messiah and of God. Greedy people are really idolaters who worship the things of this world. But we should let the Holy Spirit fill and control us. Because Yeshua gave up his life for us to make us holy and clean, washed by the Word of God to present us as his glorious people without spot or wrinkle, holy and without fault. (Ephesians)

What really matters is that we live pure and blameless lives until Messiah returns. We are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Letting our lives shine brightly before them. Fixing our thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Thinking about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians)

We are God’s own holy people. And as the holy people whom he loves, we must clothe ourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. (Colossians)

When we stand before God our Father our hearts will be strong, blameless and holy because of Messiah. God wants us to be holy, so we should keep clear of all sexual sin. God has called us to be holy, not to live impure lives. Our whole spirit, soul, and body are kept blameless by the Elohay of peace till the day when our Lord Yeshua the Messiah comes again to receive glory and praise from his holy people. We thank God for this salvation that comes through the Spirit who makes us holy and by our belief in the truth. (Thessalonians)

All Christians should be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and sincere faith. Free from anger and controversy. We are not to participate in the sins of other but keep ourselves pure. It is God who saved us and chose us to live a holy life. Keep yourself pure and God can use you for his purpose. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready to be used for every good work. Pursue faith and love and peace, and enjoy the companionship of those who call on God with pure hearts. (Timothy)

Live wisely and pure and you will not bring shame on the Word of God. Because Yeshua gave his life for us we are free from every kind of sin, cleansed and made his very own people, totally committed to doing what is right. We are saved not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins and gave us new life through the Holy Spirit. (Titus)

Yeshua died to cleanse us from the stain of sin. Yeshua makes us holy which allows us to have the same Father. Our Father wants us to be holy, and we are holy by the sacrifice of the body of Yeshua the Messiah once for all time. Because of Yeshua sacrifice we can go right into the presence of God, with true hearts fully trusting him. Because our evil consciences have been sprinkled with the Messiah's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed. So, we should live in peace with everyone, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for those who are not holy will not see God. (Hebrews)

We must care for those who are in trouble, and refuse to let the world corrupt us. Wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere. Friendship with this world makes us an enemy of God. If our aim is to enjoy this world, we can’t be a friend of God. The Holy Spirit that God has placed in us jealously longs for us to be faithful. He gives us strength to stand against such evil desires. (James)

The Spirit has made us holy. As a result, we have obeyed Yeshua the Messiah and are cleansed by his blood. So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though it is necessary for us to endure many trials for a while. These trials are only to test our faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold, yet far more precious to God than mere gold. If our faith remains strong after being tried, it will bring us much praise and glory and honor on the day when Yeshua the Messiah is revealed to the world. So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the return of Yeshua the Messiah. But now we must be holy in everything we do, just as God, who chose us to be his children is holy. We must be holy because God is holy. We have sincere love for each other because we were cleansed from our sins when we accepted the truth about Yeshua the Messiah. Do not forget that God has cleansed us from our old life of sin. Everything around us is going to vanish but what is holy. So what holy, godly lives we should be living! And while we are waiting for this to happen, we should make every effort to live a pure and blameless life. And be at peace with God. (Peter)

All who believe they are Gods’s children keep themselves pure, just as the Messiah is pure. (1 John)

James 1
27Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father means that we must care for orphans and
widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world corrupt us.

James 3
17But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times,
and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always
sincere.

James 4
4You adulterers! Don't you realize that friendship with this world makes you an enemy of God? I
say it again, that if your aim is to enjoy this world, you can't be a friend of God. 5What do you think
the Scriptures mean when they say that the Holy Spirit, whom God has placed within us, jealously
longs for us to be faithful? 6He gives us more and more strength to stand against such evil desires.

1 Peter 1
2God the Father chose you long ago, and the Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed
Yeshua the Messiah and are cleansed by his blood.

1 Peter 1
6So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though it is necessary for you to endure many trials
for a while.
7These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and
purifies gold--and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains
strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day
when Yeshua the Messiah is revealed to the whole world.

1 Peter 1
13So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the special blessings that will come to you
at the return of Yeshua the Messiah.

1 Peter 1
15But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God--who chose you to be his children--
is holy.

1 Peter 1
16For he himself has said, "You must be holy because I am holy."

1 Peter 1
22Now you can have sincere love for each other as brothers and sisters because you were cleansed from
your sins when you accepted the truth of the Good News. So see to it that you really do love each other
intensely with all your hearts

2 Peter 1
9But those who fail to develop these virtues are blind or, at least, very shortsighted. They have already
forgotten that God has cleansed them from their old life of sin.

2 Peter 3
11Since everything around us is going to melt away, what holy, godly lives you should be living!

2 Peter 3
14And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to live a pure
and blameless life. And be at peace with God.

1 John 3
3And all who believe this will keep themselves pure, just as the Messiah is pure.

1 John (all)

1 John 3-5 (CJB)
We know that when he appears, we will be like him; because we will see him as he really is. And everyone
who has this hope in him continues purifying himself, since God is pure.
Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah – indeed, sin is violation of Torah. You know that he
appeared in order to take away sins, and that there is no sin in him. So no one, who remains united with
him continues sinning; everyone who does continue sinning has neither seen him nor known him.
People, don’t let anyone deceive you – it is the person that keeps on doing what is right who is righteous,
just as God is righteous. The person who keeps on sinning is from the Adversary, because from the
very beginning the Adversary has kept on sinning. It was for this very reason that the Son of God
appeared, to destroy these doings of the Adversary.
No one who has God as his Father keeps on sinning, because the seed planted by God remains in
him. That is, he can not continue sinning, because he has God as his Father. Everyone who does not
continue doing what is right is not from God.
God has given us eternal live, and this life is in his Son.
We know that everyone who has God as his Father does not go on sinning; on the contrary, the Son
born of God protect him, and the Evil One does not touch him.
We know that we are from God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the Evil One. And we
know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment, so that we may know who is
genuine; moreover, we are united with the One who is genuine, united with his Son Yeshua HaMashiach.
He is the genuine Elohim and eternal life.
People, guard yourselves against false gods!!!!

That was a list of all verses that contain the word holy.

I think the evidence is overwhelming. How can we say we sin, and still be found righteous in his sight? Righteousness is not found in how we handle physical items, it has to do with how we have been circumcised within our hearts. It has to do with how a Holy Spirit is living in and through you, as you walk throughout the world as God commanded. We are called to perfection, and yet we have an eternally graceful God in the form of Yeshua. Always willing to accept you back, IF you make tshuva and repent.

God is calling all to repent, and place faith in God. Faith that God will and can place His Spirit within you and live the works of the law through your very being. In this very place, outside the temple.

(Romans)

:prayer:These two chapters are my hearts prayer:prayer:

Romans 8:28 - 9:1 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren; 30 and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written, "For Thy sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 12:1-21 NAS Romans 12:1 I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. 3 For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. 4 For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let each exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; 7 if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; 8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and curse not. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. 17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20 "But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Yes obedience to the Holy Spirit within you is the Holiness ABBA so desires for us all to live in... (Sh'mah)

I love that bit in Ephesians 3:18 where Sh'aul struggles (unusually for him) to say what his heart knows to be fact. He includes a 4th dimension in trying to explain G_d's love for us in Y'shua. We, as mere humans, can only experience 3 dimensions and Sh'aul realises this and so adds a 4th dimension, within the limits of his human mind, to shown us that we need spiritual sight to truly know G_d's love for us, in Y'shua. I can imagine him in his struggle: "how do I explain that there is an extra dimension now that Y'shua has walked this earth and we have the Ruach HaKodesh?" It is not something that is obvious to everyone with normal sight (even those who have 20:20 vision) - it needs the same spiritual sight as Elisha's servant was given (2 Kings 6:17) to see the reality of Y'shua's extreme love in and around us. The world sees only in 3 dimensions - followers of Y'shua can see and live in a 4th dimension! Praise the L_rd!

We should all pray for the gift of discernment. ... that we may see as the Lord sees... the gift of discernment that we may hear as the Lord hears.. the gift of discernment that we may understand as the Lord understands.. thus we will be able to live in the 4th dimension.
