So I just caught the end of it but there was a nasty fight between Sean Hannity & a Catholic priest just now. It will repeat tonight if anyone is interested.

Not sure what it was about but will find out later.

Basically the priest was saying Mr. Hannity was not Catholic & would deny him communion.

If I heard correctly.

I overheard some of it. I think it all started with one of the hosts; The one with the big head, is that Hannity?; encouraging non-Catholics who are going to have extra-martial sex to use BC instead of getting abortions. The Priest had a great teaching opportunity to go into how the two options are both abortive, too bad it got personal.

I've really come to dislike Sean Hannity. He isn't fair at all on the radio. I don't know about TV as I quit watching FoxNews about 6 months ago. He never argues his point with someone who has an opposing view, he either spews and won't let them talk or hangs up on them and plays that stupid sound byte. That coupled with Bill O'Reily paying off the employee that he made the obscene phone calls to (while using a vibrator no less) was enough to kill Fox for me. It doesn't matter if you're right if you won't allow the other side to state their point of view and argue it intelligently. He isn't always right. Bill O'Reily is just a low life. I don't have a problem with a man who makes a mistake but a man who won't admit his error is worthless. I don't know why anyone would be glad that Sean Hannity was a Catholic, I'd be embarrassed. I'm interested to hear what the Priest says though. I'd be pretty pleased if your first report was accurate. :)

Edit............There's a link on Fox's page for the interview. It's just 4 minutes long. LOL he calls Sean a heretic. As usual Sean makes a fool of himself. *rolls eyes*

The clip I just saw with Sean and the Priest says to me that if Sean is indeed proclaiming himself Catholic and blatantly going against the Catholic church teaching that this could be a sign of existing problems in the U.S.

The priest made it clear that if Sean is a Catholic that he is a heretic and outside the church.

For what it is worth, I beleive the Catholic church is being divided within because of herecies within the Catholic church. This is but one facet and there are others like feminists wanting to be priests and gays wanting their sexual way of life to be accepted.

The Catholic church may be under attack now more than ever.

But I am confident that the gates of hell will fall against the Catholic church. After all Jesus already beat Satan and it is just a matter of going through the great tribulation so that Jesus will return.

I also know one thing if nothing else...

The Catholic Church is Jesus' church and it is where you all need to be.

God Bless and Peace,

Jack

Too bad he wasnt talking to Hilary or Nancy like that. Now THAT would have been great :)

Hilary and Nancy are not Catholic... so, there wouldn't be a reason for him to even have that conversaton.

Hannity claims that he is Catholic... there lies the rub.

Actually Nancy Pelosi claims to have been raised Catholic.

Having watched it, and seeing the complete and utter lack of respect my Hannity(I think) has for the Church he professes to believe in, I find it applaudable not only that the priest called him a heretic, but that he also told him he would refuse him communion. The way he says that he should be glad people are still Catholic, showed me his lack of commitment to the Church.

Actually Nancy Pelosi claims to have been raised Catholic.

She created the "Faith Working Group," in congress and was one of 55 Catholic Democrats in the House of Representatives who signed a "Statement of Principles" which, among other things said, " we are proud to be part of the living Catholic tradition -- a tradition that promotes the common good, expresses a consistent moral framework for life and highlights the need to provide a collective safety net to those individuals in society who are most in need . . . we agree with the Catholic Church about the value of human life and the undesirability of abortion . . ."

Note that the Statement of Principles is hosted at Rosa DeLauro's (D-CT) House website. Representative DeLauro is married to Stanley Greenberg--Bill Clinton's pollster. It was he who shocked the party with his analysis of the religious vote after the 2004 election.

That statement about him saying he should be glad people are still Catholic comes from the protestant ideology that there should be some kind of public opinion that drives the religious beliefs.

That of course is false since the only thing that can drive what the religious beliefs are would be God.

The Catholic church has not changed it's teachings since Jesus established it all in grace and truth. With all the councils and things like the Catechism or creed the Catholic church has only clarified what the teachings have been from the beginning with Jesus because of herecies. I think these events have been distorted by many to seem as though the Catholic church has made changes. But that again is false as the early church father's writings attest.
