You Talk The Talk But Do You Walk The Walk ?

Big institutions all say they don’t discriminate and treat people with mental health issues fairly in accordance with their needs but in reality do they?

I give you the example of the Driving vehicle licensing agency (DVLA) I was asked by my psychiatrist to report my medication to the dvla and my car insurance company. The individuals I spoke to at the medical enquiries section of the DVLA left me with the impression they couldn’t care less and caused me even more stress my having me fill in a paper form with virtually no assustance just so I could have the privilege of being allowed to continue to drive. By contrast my insurance company could have not been more helpful and took all the details over the phone. Maybe I was just unlucky but in all my interactions with the medical enquiries section I was left with the same impression
