What is this life without Your love?
Without my God on high
If when my eyes can’t search above
I feel as though I’ll die
What is this life when void of peace?
When hope has ceased to be
What’s left to do when tears increase?
And eyes no joy can see
When trust has ventured out the door
When daily prayers decline
When worship’s left Salvation’s shore
And faith is no more mine
What is this life when God I fail?
When day and night seem one
When pessimism drops its veil
Replacing hope long gone
What’s left to do but sit and weep?
Wandering to and fro
Recalling nights of blissful sleep
Within Salvation’s flow
When still this child was in Your hand
When victory songs I’d sing
When God within was in command
Through Christ my Lord and King
I’ve shed in life so many tears
I’ve faced the great unknown
Yet Jesus’ love throughout the years
Had changed my heart of stone
I still believe Your somewhere near
And grace You long to give
That even now you’ll take my fear
