Writing:

Lately I've been trying to write some more...and this is what I wrote just to help drag myself out of writers' block. Nothing much, and I have no idea what its about, but anyways... Here's a piece of it:

~
Wisps of white fog clung to the trunks of the towering, thin old black pine trees that studded the cold, hard fractured earth. The forest was like a graveyard, with the same ghostly feeling of death.
Deep in the rolling mist was a den, a old cave made from two massive fallen boulders that came from seemingly nowhere in the darkest shadows of the forest. Deep inside the cave it felt cold as winter’s bones, freezing, with a dank chill that smelt of doom and despair.
In the sleeping shades of the deepest hidden heart of the den: a breath stirred.
A ancient terror, too old to be remembered by the living…finally, awakened at last.
The beast breathed again, a rasping sound that slowly grew stronger in the dim. It was a loud, haunted noise, a deep rumbling gasp that seemed to echo in the dead, creepy forest.
Shivers of power, the creature felt them run from its heart as the oxygen wakened its black blood and sent it flowing through its cold, stiff flesh. The raw muscles that rippled down its legs and across its lean, tough body bunched as it moved. It opened its eyes, they burned a fierce blue in the deathly shadows of night. They seemed to beam through the harsh, sickly fog, and clear the air, buzzing with intensity so powerful it sent any-other being in the area scattering. The creature stood, back arched, and head low, it crawled from the den, stepping into the open, wisps of white fog and black shadows twirling around its powerful white claws. The creature walked into the clearing, staring around with those bright, beaming blue orbs that were its eyes. The beast had a powerful, lean form; with big blue wings clasped to its sides, and a long tail that whipped out of the cave as it walked out through the forest. The creature’s body was a hard, sleek blue, clasped in a full armor of shiny blue scales that simmered and seemed very out of place in the dark, dead woodlands that it walked in. The creature’s head was crowned with two white horns, and its neck was studded with sharp white spikes that ran the length of its body and down its tail. The creature’s breath gusted like bright ice crystals before its muzzle as it breathed, steady, and slow now.
It stared around for one long, quiet moment. At the dark lands that it had awoken in.
A growl rose from deep in the chest of the beast; it seemed to echo around the area, and for a moment, it drifted into the fogs and the shadows of the forest…the only noise heard.
Then the dragon cocked its head back and roared, a sudden blast of noise louder then louder, and so strong it made your teeth buzz at the sound of it. It blazed through the air, followed by a trail of hot red fire that scorched the air with a unthinkable intensity. The dragon’s voice howled like a hunting wolf’s call through the dead lands, haunting the hearts of the listening like a ghost ready to feast on your soul.
The dragon’s white fangs flashed as it finished its warning call: red-hot now from the flame. The dragon’s blue scales were like stars on the clear night sky compared to the darkness and sickly dread that seemed to haunt the area around. And the dragon--she-dragon, to be exact--had awoken, ready to seek out the beings that had put her in the desolate land.
She suddenly burst forward in a blaze of speed, and ran into the air, spreading her great blue wings and taking flight through a gap in the creaking old pine branches. She soared, flapping her wings with beats of thunder, the cold, frozen air rising under her belly, and seeming to lick her blue scales. A look of anger and determination burned in her intense blue eyes. She growled again, warning any that were listening, or watching her flight:
Bluestorm was back.
