Will the real teacher, please stand up?

There is certainly no shortage of teachers, preachers, encouragers, visions, prophecies and words. It's hard to not get lost in the multitudes of teaching that are out there. Some of the more prominent teachers and preachers are really under attack lately. Every word spoken is under the microscope. And while it is definitely important to "test the spirits" we need to realize what the Lord has to say about this very important issue.

You see, no matter what our calling and gifting is, we are all just human.
The scripture tells us 1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires.

If you listen to a "preacher" and agree with everything he says, then he says something that throws a "check in your spirit." Do you then discount every word that he has said? No....take the good and leave the bad. The Holy Spirit within you is the true teacher. The first thing you need to know about any ministry or layperson is do they "pass the test." Do they proclaim that Jesus is Lord, That he was born of the virgin Mary, died on the cross, stayed in the earth for three days and rose again. Where He sits on the right hand of the Father, waiting to be reunited with His church? If you already know that this believer "passes the test" then you also need to know that they are in no way perfect.

If you are listening to someone who is telling you that your sin is O.K. because everyone else it doing it, or that you can some how make it to heaven without Jesus, you are not listening to sound Bible based doctrine. If you are unsure as to any teaching, it should always be searched out and weighed with the Word of God. Never just blindly follow anyone or believe something to be true just because someone else said it was. Always weigh it against the Word of God.

Being trained in a confined environment I have had the opportunity to set under the teaching of every denomination. Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Protestant, Pentecostal, Lutheran, and the list goes on. It was interesting to me how every denomination had their own take on the "rules of holiness." Every congregation will have lost and saved seated amongst them. I can honestly say that I have received sound teaching from anyone who was reading directly from the Bible. Why? Because my teacher, the Holy Spirit, lives inside of me. Did I agree with the traditions of men? Absolutely not, which is why today I choose to be non-denominational.

Just because you do not agree with someone's lifestyle choice's does that mean you "cut them off?" I know plenty of people who "pass the test" and yet still struggle with what God has to say about different situations in their lives. We are all on a journey here, and I can assure you that things I did twenty years ago as a Christian I no longer do today. I think it's very important that as a believer we continue to walk in love towards others. St. John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Didn't Jesus? Luke 7:34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! St. Luke 5:31 And Jesus answered and said to them, "It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.

If you are serving the Lord, you are supposed to be a light in the darkness. If you only associate with those "in the light" then how are you illuminating in darkness? Matthew 5:14 - 15."You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.…

Do you have room for imperfect people in your life? I pray so, as these are the ones who need to hear what you have to say the most. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
Galatians 6:9 Do not grow weary in well doing. For at the appointed time, we shall reap if we faint not.
If Jesus is your Lord and savior................The real teacher, is inside of YOU!
Today, I believe that the Lord has encouraged me to ask you a simple question.
