Who’d think that God is in the field?
That Jesus pulls the plough
That great will be our daily yield
If knees to Christ would bow

Who’d think that God can understand?
When sickness brings such grief
That Christ can guide the surgeon’s hand
And bring us swift relief

Who’d think that God can read our mind?
Can see our heart’s content
Can heal the eyes to truth yet blind
Can straighten roads now bent

Who’d think that God can free from jail
When Satan robs our peace
That Jesus Christ can pay our bail
And bring us swift release

Who’d think that God is in the trench?
Along with Jesus’ love
That victory from our foe we’ll wrench
When seeking help above

Who’d think that God can guide our ways?
Can show where feet should tread
That Jesus when we end our days
Can raise us from the dead

Who’d think that God can still be found?
That Christ brings birth anew
That planted seed on holy ground
Brings fruit as morning dew

There’s too much doubt this side of hell
We think most lies are true
But woe who waits for time to tell
