Within the store just down the lane
Or fuel for fire or car
Money it seems will find some drain
Regardless where we are
Is this a sign of modern times?
Prosperity today!
Or God’s answer to many crimes
Along our selfish way
We lie, we steal, we cheat and kill
The devil’s fruit we bear
Can we from shame not get our fill?
Or do we even care?
The church once full of yesteryear
God’s temples far and wide
Go here, there or everywhere
Yet few are seen inside
True faith today is seen as odd
Most schools are banned to teach
So few believe a Living God
So few The truth still preach
Could it be true, God’s less than pleased?
We’ve broken every law
Has not the last sour grape been squeezed?
Must Jesus search for more?
He died for us, for all our sin
Suffered tremendous pain
He sought through love each soul to win
Through faith to live again
But when He comes will faith He find?
When waken from our sleep
Or will He see still groping blind?
