At this time of year it's pretty common to see Santas throughout the city sitting somewhere waiting for children to sit on his lap and tell him what they want for Christmas.
When I was younger I thought it was perfectly normal and sat in Santa's lap like a good girl. Now though, I think it's weird. We have children line up to sit on some strange guy's lap and tell him all of our greedy desires (come on, no one asks for peace on earth or anything like that). It doesn't seem magical or imaginative to me like it should. It's just a little creepy.
Maybe it's good that I don't want to ever have children. It's not that I discourage a healthy fantasy life for children, but some of our holiday traditions (including the Easter Bunny) are strange.
