I have been moving for the last two weeks so I didn't get to do this last week. Hopefully I am not moving again for a looong time. It is exhausting.
Many Americans are not buying Trump's lies. His approval is at an all-time low for him. People know that grocery prices are up, and haven't come down. They know that gas is still high, and that any drop that has happened is because it always drops at the end of summer. People know that homes are staying unaffordable. And most Americans realize that we are paying the tariffs in higher prices for everything imported even if it is just something in the product that is imported.
Trump's poll numbers are dropping in regards to immigration, trade, inflation and more. His efforts to hide the Epstein files is noted. Now that he ordered the investigation of Democrats that are or may be in the files, he will probably classify the files as a result. The cover-up continues.
But finally, there is movement by Republicans in office away from Trump. Marjorie Taylor Green is resigning, though I expect her to run for governor of Georgia. The Senate Republicans are resisting ending the filibuster which is something Trump wants. Many Republicans voted to release the Epstein files. The Republicans in Indiana are refusing to redraw their districts to favor Republicans. Perhaps they see the polls and realize that outside Trump's core base of about 30%, the public is not enamored with Donald.
Another example of Republicans moving away from Trump involves the bargaining rights of federal workers. Republicans joined Democrats in a discharge petition to force a vote on a bill to restore the collective bargaining right of federal workers - and reverses an executive order signed by Trump.
Trump shouldn't be calling female reporters "piggy". There is only one Miss Piggy and she has a temper:
