DOGE continued to cause chaos and harm. The freeze on USAID money hurt US farmers and Christian groups trying to minister and feed the poor in other countries.
Also, US farmers are being hurt as they had contracts to grow the food for USAID.

Another spending freeze is hurting farmers who are participating in a conservation program with the government, and who bought equipment and supplies thinking they will get reimbursed for much of it.

Going back to USAID, the Trump administration showed a lack of knowledge or care regarding the USAID workers left in less than great areas, like the Congo.
DOGE is acting blindingly stupid and irresponsible. So is Trump who is letting Musk damage the US. They are hurting Americans though they are suppose to be "America first." On top of that, Trump is isolating itself from its allies and seems to be played by Putin. Disgust at the US is growing outside of the US.
While Trump carries on his carnage, inflation is going up, eggs are still expensive and information about bird flu is being hidden. Changing the name of Gulf of Mexico does not lower prices. But Trump is getting in his golf games.
Faith-based organizations that partner with the U.S. government to deliver international aid are being hard-hit by the USAID shutdown, and are now facing their own layoffs, furloughs and severe funding shortages.
I can only post one sentence of AP articles. It is a good read. It is interesting that the right likes to claim Christianity but voted in someone who is hurting what I consider God's work. Those Christian workers are trying to spread the gospel and Christian love. Why am I not surprized the Trump administration will not cooperate with them? Also, US farmers are being hurt as they had contracts to grow the food for USAID.
MAGA farmers and teachers are the latest groups to regret voting for Trump
These farmers and teachers are in the find out stage of FAFO.
Farmers are already dealing with the effects of climate change and avian flu outbreaks, but the Trump administration’s recent efforts to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) — spearheaded by Elon Musk — means that people who owned farms are already losing money.
While Trump and Musk claim they ordered a 90-day freeze on USAID’s foreign aid spending to rein in wasteful spending, in actuality they’re hurting American farmers and other business owners who sell goods and services to USAID.

US Farmers Say Trump Let Them Down With Spending Freeze
Rural America came out strongly for Trump in last year's presidential election, and farmers say they did not expect to be affected by the Republican's unprecedented attempt to cut back US government programs.
The farmers say they have not been reimbursed from two United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs designed to help them invest in conservation and clean energy generation.
These programs were funded through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), one of former president Joe Biden's signature pieces of legislation which pumped billions of dollars into clean energy projects across the country. Trump opposes some US efforts to fight climate change and has called the IRA the "green new scam."

Cuts to NIH would cause economic harm across Alabama
Alabama economists and politicians worry that Trump’s budget slashing could send harmful economic ripples across a state that’s consistently voted for him.

A federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked a Trump Administration policy that would have made deep cuts to health research funding at universities, medical schools, hospitals and other scientific institutions.
But the decision has done little to quell worries about what a potential loss of grant dollars would mean for the cities and states that rely on National Institutes of Health (NIH) research funding, including in deep red states like Alabama.
Birmingham, Alabama has become one of the country’s leading hubs for biomedical research. Banners downtown brag about the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s (UAB) status in the top 1% of institutions for NIH funding, bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars into the region.
Economists and politicians in the state are quick to clarify a few points: UAB is not only the largest employer for Birmingham, but all of Alabama. UAB is an essential piece of the state’s economy. And NIH funding is foundational to UAB.
It is no surprize then when Dem. Rep. Terri Sewell held a telephone town hall and 20,000 responded. Folks in Alabama are worried.

Going back to USAID, the Trump administration showed a lack of knowledge or care regarding the USAID workers left in less than great areas, like the Congo.
January 28 began as a normal day for “Marcus Doe,” an employee of the U.S. Agency for International Development stationed in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He boarded a shuttle, bound for his desk at the U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa. His children got on their school bus heading a different direction.
Within hours, everything changed.
Violent political demonstrations erupted and protesters attacked the U.S. Embassy. By the end of the day, most staff were told to evacuate.
But just how they would get back to the United States was unclear: The White House had frozen foreign aid spending about a week earlier and put senior USAID leaders on leave. The agency had stopped paying for employee travel.
Marcus began to feel “an intense sense of panic” that the U.S. government would abandon its workers in Kinshasa. When he finally made it to Washington after a harrowing journey by boat and plane, Marcus was put on administrative leave.
The account is one of more than a dozen from U.S. employees stationed overseas, along with others who work with USAID, included in a lawsuit filed Tuesday by unions representing USAID staff and U.S. Foreign Service officers. They are asking the court for a temporary restraining order directing the White House “to reverse these unlawful actions and to halt any further steps to dissolve the agency.”
The employees and others, who filed their accounts under penalty of perjury, were given pseudonyms to prevent government retaliation, said Lauren Bateman, an attorney representing the American Federation of Government Employees, one of the unions that brought the lawsuit.
