Nope. The Democrats are not trying to keep ACA coverage for illegal immigrants. They want to keep the subsidies for 24 million Americans who will lose healthcare if the Republicans have it their way. And it will hurt all those Republicans in rural areas.
It is tempting to say to people, "Well, you voted for him. He does not care about you and the cost of your healthcare. Elections have consequences."
However, a lot of non-Trump supporters will be affected as well.
Trump only cares about himself. This is the most nakedly corrupt administration I have ever seen, and I was born when Truman was president.
The Trump administration is the swamp.
There is a bit of good news tonight. The judge that stopped the Trump administration from sending troops into Portland also said that California, nor any other state can send troops there. It violates Posse Comitatus.

This brings up pictures of 1930s Germany. My father fought for America in WWII, and was there on D-Day on Omaha Beach, and went through the Battle of the Bulge. My uncle was shot down and killed in the Battle of Berlin. They didn't do that with the expectation that the tactics done in Germany would be done here. (no, I am not calling the Trump administration nazis. )
From the news stories and images, it does not appear that the generals were impressed with either Hegeseth's or Trump's speeches. I imagine their speeches made them sick. Being scolded for being 'fat' by a dodge drafter and a former Fox news host.
Come to think of it, if a fat general is not fit for the job they have, what about fat presidents?

"We're seeing increases in premiums because health care costs are going up, but when you also take away these subsidies, you essentially pull the rug out from people," he says. "You're looking at a family that maybe was paying $800 a month for their health insurance and that jumps to $3,000."

Debris was scattered on the hallways of an apartment complex in Chicago, where federal agentsconducted a large scale immigration raid on September 30, 2025.
Adults and children alike were pulled from their Chicago apartments, crying and screaming, during a large overnight raid that has left tenants and neighbors shaken.
“I’ve been on military bases for a good portion of my life,” said Darrell Ballard, who lives in the building next door. “And the activity I saw – it was an invasion.”
Ballard recalled seeing residents detained outside the building for hours, after seeing a Black Hawk helicopter flying over the five-story building in the city’s South Shore neighborhood and military-sized vehicles and agents filling the parking lot early Tuesday morning.....
“Federal agents reporting to Secretary Noem have spent weeks snatching up families, scaring law-abiding residents, violating due process rights, and even detaining U.S. citizens. They fail to focus on violent criminals and instead create panic in our communities,” the governor said.
Shattered windows marked the apartment building as seen in photos from the aftermath of the raid. Hallways were lined with debris and plastic bags while clothing, wall decor and lamps became piles of litter inside apartment units. Across the country, US-born children have become collateral damage in the Trump administration’s unprecedented crackdown on undocumented immigrants. CNN identified more than 100 US citizen children, from newborns to teenagers, who have been left stranded without parents because of immigration actions this year, according to a review of verified crowdfunding campaigns, public records and interviews with families, friends, immigration attorneys and other advocates.
Another neighbor, Eboni Watson, said she and others ducked for cover when hearing several flash bangs go off.
“They was terrified. The kids was crying. People was screaming. They looked very distraught. I was out there crying when I seen the little girl come around the corner, because they was bringing the kids down, too, had them zip tied to each other,” Watson told WLS, recalling trucks and military-style vans were used to separate adults from their children.
