Week 27 - the craziness continues

Trump is continuing his ranting and attempts to distract from the Epstein files and his involvement with Epstein. He seems desparate.
This came to my attention:

Today Trump did a press conference in Scotland. According to some pundits, he came off as "bat poop crazy". For instance, he took credit for ending the genocide in Rwanda - which occurred in 1994. He confused it with recent issues between Rwanda and the Congo. And he went on about windmills for about 20 minutes, saying it has to be subsidized - as if the US doesn't subsidize the oil industry. Trump went on to complain that they are ugly, expensive and drive the whales crazy. Perhaps he is unaware that Scotland gets 50% of its energy from wind.

Today, more than half of all Scotland’s electricity comes from wind, nearly 2 million more tourists visit the country than in 2011 and the country has not gone broke. Renewable energy in the US isn’t quite as dominant but has also grown quickly as costs have plummeted, with more than 90% of all capacity added to American grids last year coming from wind, solar and batteries rather than fossil fuels.

Despite this, Trump has only escalated his incendiary invective toward renewables, claiming offshore wind turbines are “driving the whales crazy” – there is little evidence for this – and stating shortly after his inauguration in January that “we don’t want windmills in this country”.

Expect US energy costs to go up as renewable energy is dismantled.

Then Trump said that the US is the only country to have sent food for Gaza, and the US should be thanked. ? AI response to this question is:

  • Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE): These two countries have resumed joint airdrops of food and other necessities into Gaza. Jordan has also sent aid by land, according to the BBC.
  • Egypt: Egypt is reported to be delivering aid to Gaza by land.
  • United States: The United States is a significant donor of humanitarian assistance, including food, to Palestinians, and supports the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an initiative designed to deliver aid directly to civilians. The GHF is also backed by Israel.
  • Israel: Israel itself has delivered aid and established "safe corridors" and a tactical pause to facilitate aid delivery.
  • Turkey, Qatar, and Tunisia: In October 2023, planes carrying aid from these countries landed in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, close to the Gaza border.
  • International Organizations: The UN World Food Programme (WFP), UNRWA, and UNICEF are among the key international organizations working to provide food and other aid to Gaza. According to the WFP, they have provided emergency food and cash assistance to a significant number of people in Gaza and the West Bank.

He skipped the questions and said what he wanted. He also bragged about the ballroom being build in the White House.

I did get a kick out of South Park this week.

I'll end with this from Facebook:
