We cannot judge another

Originally posted 16 March 08

I was reading through the 12th Chapter of John today.
Like the Book of Matthew, the Book of John is a very revealing Book of the Bible in my opinion.
My attention was specifically drawn to:
John12:47-48
And if anyone hears My words and does not believe.I do not judge him;for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.
He who rejects Me does not receive My words, has that which judges him-the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

I believe that we will all be judged by our works that we do throughout our life.
As Christians we are allowed to rebuke other believers if they fall from Gods grace but it is very wrong to judge another for they will be judged by God by their works. Not believing, not trusting nor having faith in His Word condemns.
When I first was received into the faith and was born again, I mistakenly thought that I could judge others because I was saved.
This was a huge mistake and was actually taking my away from Jesus Christ again.
Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and it is for Him to judge all those by their works when He returns.
Gently rebuking a fellow Christian is not the same as judging them.
When a fellow believer has lost some of His faith and is going through a hard time we should be there for them if they ask for our support.

Matthew7:1-5
1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

James4:11-12
11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

Jesus Christ will come to judge us all when the time comes.
Let all believers concentrate on spreading the Word to those who wish to hear.
