Water, Water

Some churches have little water
To drink, God’s children seek
Each son and every daughter
Each day of every week

Some cisterns are smashed in pieces
More oft beyond repair
Thus thirsting, God’s flock decreases
Seeking here and there

Where can they go, where should they flee?
Where churches seem the same
Where searching souls can be set free
From deadly sin and shame

Lethal, to body, soul and mind
Deprived of love and peace
Wandering weak, slow growing blind
Man’s spirit seeks release

Water is needed, with pastures green
Vast cisterns, fresh and deep
Where no false Shepherds intervene
Supplying Heaven’s sheep

Yet for this, some need to dig first
Like Abraham before
Praying The Lord, would end their thirst
Through rain forever more

From Heavenly clouds of wonder
Through God’s almighty hand
Rip ignorance shreds asunder
Teach more to understand

Let water flow, let sheep grow strong
Let God be truly God
Let love flow rich, let life be long
Beneath life’s Shepherd’s rod…..
