Everybody knows the famous verse John3/16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son..."
I believe when we read “so loved” we understand “how much” Is that right ?
Well, the exact word in greek text is “ούτω ηγάπησε” (hope you can see greei characters)
ούτω - uto (u pronounced as in the word "tUrbo")
ηγάπησε – igapise (loved)
ούτω (uto) does not answer to “how much” but it answers to “what way”
So,
The exact sentence of John 3/16 should be ..
“For God with this (kind of love) loved the world...” or something like this.
It does not describes the amount of God's Love but the quality...
The “how much” could be compared with any other love.
But the quality of His love is out of any comparing process …
Why ?
Because many parents have given their sons for a purpose.
For the independence of their country, for the defense of high ideas,
for their topic ideals …
But the quality of His Love … Expects no repayment, no gain for Himself.
Offers His begotten Son for... his enemies !!!
THAT IS LOVE.
A form of Love that no man ever knew could exist !
So, it's not a matter of how much He loved us, but what kind of Love he is ….
And this is the kind of the biblical Love.
We're gonna need many many years to know the hight an the depth of His Love.
Or may I say... we're gonna need eternity …
