I used to like this world's debris
Hell's filthiness around
With demonic portions agree
Delinquency profound
Desire was normal as lust
Cheating, lies were life's way
Debauchery common as dust
Why on earth would one stray
Some things were right, others seemed wrong
Whatever way one stood
Shamelessness was the daily song
Most all appeared good
But not, when things moved against me
When hurt were me and mine
Nothing was worse, not one degree
Nothing at all was fine
This! was the moment of reason
When Heaven showed a hand
When hell I committed treason
Truth made me understand
Should improvement not be somewhere
Someone, should disallow
Should end this fear, this despair
Could someone show me how?
Christ Jesus was working wonders
My God I failed to know
Despite my filth, loathsome blunders
Life's Lamp began to glow
Hear! each immoral outlaw
Too well, I know what I say
While Heaven and hell have a door
Follow Salvation's Way.....
