Unveiling Tithe chapter 1

1
What is the tithe?
Tithing is a spiritual principle.
It is one of the laws of God’s operation in the earth, established at the foundation of the earth.
It is an aspect of the Law of seedtime and harvest, found in Genesis 8:22,
“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night,
Shall not cease.”
In Genesis 14, tithing is first recorded in the Bible.
Genesis 14:18,
Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.
And he blessed him and said,
“Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”
He gave him a tenth of all.
This was 400 years before Moses.
Nevertheless we see Abram (later renamed Abraham) understanding it and entering into its benefits. The Bible even reveals that Abram made declarations when he tithed to the King of Salem.
Codified and instituted in the Law of Moses for the supernatural blessing of His people.
The Hebrew word for tithe is ‘maser’. Literally meaning the 10th part.
Israel was originally an agrarian economy.
Under the Law of Moses, the Israelites would give a 10th of their livestock, land produce, as well as a 10th of all income from other areas, as recognition that God had blessed them. In doing this they claim further blessing of God upon them and their land.
Tithe was used primarily in Israel for expenses of worship and for the support of the Priests and Levites.
The Clergy, which were priests and Levites, were not apportioned land. Scripture says that the Lord was to be their inheritance and every offering, sacrifice, and dedicated thing to the Lord, was to be their share.
In the Church Age, ministers of the Gospel, who commit themselves to the Word and prayer, are supported likewise through the tithe and offerings.
1 Corinthians 9:11
If we have sown spiritual for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things.
1 Corinthians 9:13, 14
Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar?
Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.
Giving to God through delegated representatives is recorded in the Old and New Testaments as a primary key in being blessed.
As you enter into the spiritual law of tithing, by giving it and declaring the Word of God over it, expect the Lord to move supernaturally in your finances and in the material realm of your life.
“Tithe”, isn’t a tax as some have said.
It is known by some as Kingdom taxation.
Our Citizenship was fully paid for by the Blood of Jesus.
We are Born Again, children of the living God.
Jesus said to Peter,”What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”
Peter said to Him, “From strangers.”
Jesus said to him, “then the sons are free.” Matthew 17:25-27
The Blood has purchased and given us all things.
The tax mentality has even entered into our vocabulary. We call it ‘paying’ tithe, rather than ‘giving’ tithe.
It is an act of worship and a spiritual law established by the Lord, for us to be a blessing, and to receive blessing.
Some have said again that the tithe is God’s money.
The truth is that the tithe is a ‘holy’ thing and has special significance before Him.
Leviticus 27:32
‘And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord.’
But all your money is the Lord’s own.
You and yours belong to Him completely, not partially.
1 Corinthians 6:20
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Colossians 3:3
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

You are not held under duress to pay your tithe. It is an act of love.
Tithing is worship.
