Until To Self Were Dead

Alive in Christ and all is well
My heart’s no longer stone
No longer on the road to hell
I live to Christ alone

Its not as simple as first thought
Its not a rose filled bed
Both day and night a war is fought
Until to self we’re dead

But what a fight we first go through
Such bitter tears of woe
But those who righteousness pursue
Have but one way to go

That way is Christ, it’s Jesus cross
The way of doubtless pain
But if we die we’ll bear no loss
For death is only gain

Its gain my soul longs now to see
Its gain my heart would feel
Its gain my Lord on Calvary
Brings to my eyes so real

How can I fail this God I love?
How can I doubt His Son
With heart and soul I’ll search above
Until my war is won

Until I climb God’s holy hill
And see my Saviour’s face
I’ll seek to do my Father’s will
I’ll seek to find more grace

I’ll seek because I know I’ll find
I’ll find each day anew
Wherever now life’s road may wind
