Tuesday, August 25, 2009, 6:22 p.m. – As my husband and I were getting to walk out the door of our house to go to our neighborhood Bible study, this song came into my mind strongly. It had been in my mind earlier in the day, as well:
I Will Rise / Chris Tomlin
There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"
There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes
And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Lamentations 5:
My Understanding: The encouragement in all of this is that even though we must endure great hardship and persecution, one day Jesus will return and when he calls our names, we will rise – no more sorrow and no more pain – I can hardly wait!
