(for when celebrating the first coming of Messiah Jesus)
One still small voice, from paper, leapt
Into action, brought life to a dead spirit.
“For God so loved”--how could it be?*
A flicker of hope within self, to all around.
Really, so personal? Can such goodness endure?
But those thoughts were pushed aside by
“He gave his only begotten Son”.*
Focus on Father, His light on Yeshua,
Fixed, even while affirming “whosoever believes”,*
For a promise's source must be unimpeachable.
So in Messiah I trusted, many others have, too.
Now, we celebrate Incarnation’s feat,
Gift giving is bounded by this higher theme:
A great rejoicing that eternal life's blessing
Never finishes being unpacked,
Was made manifest then, enlivens us here.
It’s all about the Savior, saving us for Him.
True mirth stems from mercy’s free gift.
