Top 10 Reasons You Might Not Want To Be A Christian-#9 It's Too Complicated

Top 10 Reasons You Might Not Want to Be a Christian- And Why Millions of People Would Disagree. Reason #9 It's Too Complicated.

Hi Friends,

Ryan Chastain here with another reason why you might not want to be a Christian. And for this reason we’re also going back to our school days.

Because I’m sure we can all remember a class where once the teacher got started, we said, “Oh man…this is going to be tough.”

I can remember two classes in particular. One was calculus and the other was statistics. Whoa, what a bummer they both were…

…but I made it through. As I’m sure you did with your tough classes.

And so while we may have had to take some extra steps to do well in our difficult classes (I had tutors for both those classes and many others), I’m sure in the end we all at least scraped by enough to get us to where we are today.

But so when it comes to being a Christian, I’ve got some much better news…

…because while there is a lot of history to help explain the “why” of Christianity, the basic principles of “how” are fairly simple and easy to understand.

And while learning about Christianity can be a lot like those hard classes way back when…it’s different in a few specific ways.

Let me explain…

It’s similar because there can be a lot to it.
To highlight some of the important things to know I’ve made a list.

They include:

  1. How Jesus was born.
  2. How and why He died on the cross.
  3. What happened afterwards.
  4. How the Bible is structured and what it can do for you.
  5. The Ten Commandments.
  6. How to Pray.
  7. How we get to Heaven.
  8. How churches can help.
  9. How Jesus can help you today.
  10. And then a bunch of other smaller details.
But so as you can see, it’s not THAT much stuff to know to get started. And in all reality, the only thing you really need to know is how and why Jesus died on the cross, what it means for you, and how to pray to talk to Him about it.

All of which are thoroughly explained on our main website in the All About Jesus and Talking to Jesus-How to Pray Sections.

And so as I’ve mentioned in this Blog series previously, becoming, and being a Christian is a journey that doesn’t happen overnight. So you definitely don’t have to sweat the smaller stuff right now. And you can keep in mind that you’ve got the rest of your life to learn, study, and apply everything else Christianity has to offer for your life.

And trust me when I say it’s a lot.
As you’ll hear me say many times on our website, knowing Jesus has changed my life. And it can absolutely change yours too. Simply take the first steps found in our Talking to Jesus-How to Pray Section, and you’ll see how He can change your life starting today.

But so now to the good part, because like I’ve mentioned before, Christianity can be similar to those difficult school classes because there can be a lot to it…

…but it is also different as well.
And so here’s where it can go from potentially complicated, to easy and fun!

Let me explain with another list.

  1. There are never any tests- Once you take that first step you are in for the rest of eternity. As long as you stick to it and don't change your mind later on, Heaven will be waiting for you. And then life on earth can get better too.
  2. There are literally millions of tutors who are super excited to help. Whereas before you may have had to find tutors, or go meet with your teacher after class like I did. Not so with being a Christian. You’ll have an endless stream of people always wanting to help.
  3. It can be fun! Weren’t expecting that one were you? But I really do mean it. And so where studying math, science, language or whatever was always such a chore, learning about this stuff can be exciting and new. Because the more you learn, the more your life can change. And I can’t think of any better reason to learn something new than to make your life better… can you?
  4. It can change your life. So while I’m sure knowing math, science, or languages can change your life too. That kind of change is nothing compared to the peace, prosperity, love, and encouragement you will receive from being a Christian.
So hopefully this post has cleared up how being a Christian doesn’t have to be complicated at all…

…and that by simply taking the first steps everything else can just fall into place.

We’re so glad you stopped by. Please continue to check back for the rest of our series- Top 10 Reasons You Might Not Want to Be A Christian- And Why Millions of People Would Disagree.
