Top 10 Reasons You Might Not Want to Be a Christian- And Why Millions of People Would Disagree- Reason #10- It's Not the "In" Thing to Do.
Dear Friends,
Ryan Chastain here with the number 10 reason you might not want to be a Christian. And why millions of people disagree.
And so when talking about this reason, I want you to also think back to those first days of school.
Because I’m sure when you think back to those first days of school, you can remember how awkward it could be…
…whether elementary school, high school, college, or graduate school, we almost always had some preconceived notions didn’t we?
I know I did.
It’s kind of like we thought we knew, but were kind of just guessing:
Let me explain...
My point is that the people you hang around with can make a big difference in how you perceive your life.
For me it was Buckhead Church in Atlanta, GA. And if anyone ever thought being Christian wasn’t the “in” or cool thing to do, you probably haven’t visited Buckhead Church.
Because walking into that Church is more like walking into a concert than anything else. And they have the most inviting, personal atmosphere that I’ve ever experienced.
But not all churches are that way. And what’s most important is that your church fits you. (Find out more in our Denominations for Dummies Section.)
Not always. But definitely more times than not.
Smiling can be the same way. We went into the slums of Bogota to play with the kids this weekend. And it was so moving.
But while there, I noticed instructions on the wall that said “to smile.” Which as you may know can have a reciprocal effect. And by that, I mean that when you smile, most times people will smile back.
I encourage you to try it this week.
Simply smile more throughout the day, and I promise it will change the way you’re feeling. And will positively affect someone else’s life too.
So in closing,
Please come back next week for our next post on Why you might not want to be a Christian-And Why Millions of People Would Disagree.
Following Jesus has Changed my life. And He wants to do the same things for you. Simply open you heart and your mind to hear what He has in store for your life starting today.
Yours Truly in Christ,
Ryan Chastain

…whether elementary school, high school, college, or graduate school, we almost always had some preconceived notions didn’t we?
I know I did.
It’s kind of like we thought we knew, but were kind of just guessing:
- What was the right thing to wear
- What were the right things to bring
- What people were going to be like
- And how everything was going to be
- There was a crowd we fit into.
- It really wasn’t rocket science after all.
- Classes pretty much all ran the same.
- And things were actually going to be just fine.
Let me explain...
- First it can depend on your friends…and/or who you are asking.
My point is that the people you hang around with can make a big difference in how you perceive your life.
- Next- Getting involved in a good Bible based church can make all the difference.
For me it was Buckhead Church in Atlanta, GA. And if anyone ever thought being Christian wasn’t the “in” or cool thing to do, you probably haven’t visited Buckhead Church.

But not all churches are that way. And what’s most important is that your church fits you. (Find out more in our Denominations for Dummies Section.)
- Lastly- Changing your perspective about life can change everything.

Simply smile more throughout the day, and I promise it will change the way you’re feeling. And will positively affect someone else’s life too.
So in closing,
- I want to stress that being Christian can be the “in” thing to do.
- Millions of people from all over the world agree.
- And by doing so it has changed their life.
- Be around people who care about you…and that are healthy for your life.
- Find a good church. Where you’ll meet new friends.
- Then try to make things more about other people than they are about you. Smile more. Listen to other people when they are sharing things about their life. And I promise it will not only change how you see your own life, it will also change how people view you…And in a very positive way!
