Devils a fighting tooth and nail
Pushing demonic wares
How many troubles lie before?
Where are their hidden snares?
Does not man’s selfish soul, walk blind?
Man’s cold heart, hard as stone
Does greediness not cloud the mind?
Infecting flesh and bone
With plagues hell’s devils allocate
With diverse lethal sores
Sealing victim’s eternal fate
And closing Heaven’s doors
Who but a fool would live this way?
While truth is close at hand
While one need only kneel and pray
Life’s facts to understand
In the name of the living Christ
God’s Lamb offered to free
Who’ll believe why He was sacrificed
And to Him bend their knee
Who has faith enough to see now?
Ears, to hear why
Wisdom enough, here to bow
To live never to die
God’s Promises stand always true
