The end of days is an eventuality, no disputing that. Those in the time of the early church in Rome thought it was already there, as did those at the fall of the Temple. It's always been there, and even Jesus said only the Father, not He, knew the time. And face it, it is there for each of us as we individually die.
Focus might be better spent on the here and now and acting in the ways of the Kingdom to show just who is worthy of any end of days advantage. Of course, when you come right down to it one might ask, who are we to even think of having advantage over others?
