But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7
For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
With age we trade physical beauty for wisdom. I Love this scripture!
It's always nice to look nice, it makes you feel good about yourself but there is something SO much more important about who and what we are inside.
I wouldn't trade my wisdom at this point in my life for all the outer or physical beauty in the world. I know so many people who are not "perfect" on the outside, but they sure are beautiful, loving, caring & giving human beings.
Society's view on what people should look like leads us in a horrible direction, it teaches our young that dieting, working out, starving themselves and physical "perfection" is what is desirable and acceptable.
Anyone with any "wisdom" knows that it's our hearts, our inner beauty, selflessness and Love that make us beautiful. Perfection to me can be found in the "physically imperfect".
I know some people who are "physically" beautiful (to society standards) and their rude, disrespectful and full of themselves. The folks I know who are not "physically perfect" are the most beautiful to me. Their caring and giving, their selfless and helpful, their God fearing and respectful...I wouldn't trade them for the world!
So, in my opinion, bring on the physical imperfections that come with age Lord, I'll trade those for the wisdom you teach me any day!
Today- Look at the inside, not the outside. Start finding "real" perfection!
Have a beautiful day in the Lord my friends!
