Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing
1 Peter 3:9
To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Romans 12:20
There are some people that can just be so incredibly mean and hateful, I had to stand by and watch a man be severely verbally abusive to my Mother last week, I couldn't say anything. I was full of anger and hurt for her.
I snuck out to the van a few times to just pray for the strength I needed to keep my mouth shut and my hands at my side!
And while praying the 3rd or 4th time the Lord put it on my heart to pray for him. And while I'll admit this man needs the Lord more than anyone I know right now, I DID NOT want to pray for him!
But, in tears, I did it anyhow. And I've (reluctantly) prayed for him since then as well. It's still been a irritant in my life these past few days since it happened, being the reason I've skipped the morning Scriptures for a couple days, I've been dedicating my time and efforts to letting the Lord teach me to pray for those I DO NOT want to pray for, so that with His Grace they might find Him, be saved and pull their heads out of their butt's!!
It's been a struggle and a learning experience for me. I've learned (we)I DO NOT pray for those (we)I do not want to pray for, those who need my (our) prayers the most!
We need to remind ourselves to pray for the people who we do not want to pray for! Their the ones who need our prayer to find Jesus.
Today-Pray for the people you DO NOT "want" to pray for that the Lord finds His way into their hearts....
Have a beautiful day in Christ Jesus my friends!
