Theres Something Inside

THERE’S SOMETHING INSIDE
In each of us lives something real
Something we can’t deny
Something that speaks something we feel
Something that cannot die

Inside we’re meek yet outside bold
Arguing to and fro
We feel so young yet see we’re old
Whilst in and out we grow

Where flesh is weak and spirit strong
We’d run a thousand miles
We’ll feel it right yet know its wrong
Crying while outside smiles

Inside we’ll jump impossible heights
Although the flesh feels lame
Pushing, shoving and constant fights
Seldom a thought the same

We’re young and strong yet old and frail
All this we must agree
We hear the voice and often feel
Although we fail to see

Flesh and spirit at constant odds
Conflict quarrels and strife
Though no spirit can war with God’s
Such is a fact of life

Yes something’s present deep inside!
That only Heaven gives
The Truth of God we cannot hide
Because we know it lives

Because it comes from God above
It cannot purchase death
It’s truth, it’s light it’s selfless love
