We love to brag of battles won
Boast of worldly powers
Without a thought of Christ God’s Son
Within self made towers
We crave this here, seek that there
Wanting the things we see
But that Jesus would have us share
How swift one’s ‘no’ can be
Yet God should feed the multitude
Should meet man’s daily need
Though every where’s ingratitude
From selfish hearts full greed
Onions we’ve sought in days gone by
Garlic and leeks we crave
But what of He who chose to die?
That man may see no grave
We’re glad of cars, houses, galore
Of palace, yacht and plane
But who giver’s thought of Christ God’s Door
The Key to birth again
Mountains we’ll climb valleys we’ll search
For gold great seas we’ll cruise
But for the jewels promised God’s church
No instant would we lose
Filling up minds with self desire
Bellies with sinful wares
Endangers souls to endless fire
In hell where no one cares
Just spare a thought of things to be
Of life beyond the grave
Pray for those lost who fail to see
