What does the Father think at night?
How does God spend His day?
Most children bring Him no delight
In what they do and say
The time we waste when nothing’s done
Although we’ve heard His voice
What should the Father tell His Son?
About the Bridegroom’s choice
No matter where on earth we go
However far or wide
Each maiden there just loves to show
That she’s a worthy bride
Yet many who on Jesus wait
Forsake their risen Lord
Too soon they feel it’s growing late
And get so easily bored
They look else where for something new
Fresh apples for the eye
They take a bite and start to chew
And wonder why they die
The bride of Jesus must be pure
Must be as virgin snow
To be His wife He must be sure
She’s clean from head to toe
There’s no more time to sit around
Once Jesus makes His choice
For only those are Heaven bound
Who hearken to His voice
A church to stand must first be wise
Must search the world outside
As one in truth she must arise
As Jesus’ worthy bride.
