Alone and lost for many years
Quite cynical of love
Hoping to dry my many tears
I searched for Truth above
I’d sought truth here, sought facts there
At home and foreign shore
But all my neighbours had to share
Just left me seeking more
Until I heard of Jesus Christ
The Son of God on high
The Lamb The Father sacrificed
That I should never die
From front to back I read The Book
I sought in earnest prayer
Till nowhere else have I to look
For suddenly Your there
Please graft this sinner in The Vine
This child of flesh and bone
Allow Your will become now mine
Make soft my heart of stone
Regardless how I rise or feel
I start the same each day
Praying my God that You reveal
Your perfect will and Way
I pray for strength that I fulfil
Each challenge set before
That if I come against Your will
You’ll close temptation’s door
Knowing I’ve walked the devil’s path
I pray my God forgive
Through Jesus save me from the wrath
