Revelation 14:9-11 “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
The Beast
The Bible mentions the word beast many times. However, in the book of Revelation it cannot be a literal animal, since Revelation is symbolic. So how do we define those symbols? 2 Peter 1:20 “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” We are not to interpret prophecies in the Bible ourselves. So how are we to understand the prophecies? Isaiah 28:10 “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” Basically we are to let the Bible explain itself. The truth is there are 404 verses in Revelation and 278 of them can be found almost word for word in all the other books of the Bible.
So with this in mind let’s get back to the beast and find out what it means. The Bible gives several characteristics of this beast.
Revelation 17:3 “…I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast.”
What does the Bible have to say about this woman and the beast? In Jeremiah 6:2 “I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.” The verse states that the woman is the church. Daniel 7:17 “These great beasts, which are four, are four kings…” So a beast equals nation. Revelation 17:3 says that the church and nation will be together. It is seen in the Vatican City. Vatican City is also the Roman Catholic Church. We want to confirm if this is true. The Bible has several more descriptions of this beast. Let’s see if it adds up.
Revelation 17:3 “…I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast… having seven heads.” What is those heads? Later on in verse 9 it explains, “... the seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.” So, seven heads equals seven mountains.
The Roman Catholic Church admitted…
“It is within the city of Rome, called The City on Seven Hills, that the entire area of Vatican State Proper is now confined.” The Catholic Encyclopedia (Thomas Nelson, 1976), s.v. "Rome."
So we see that not only the beast is a church and state, it also sits on seven hills. There is only one place that fits this description, the Roman Catholic Church.
Revelation 13:17-18 “... the name of the beast, or the number of his name … is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred threescore and six.” The beast will have a name with a numeric value on it, and that value is 666.
“The letters inscribed in the Pope’s miter are these “VICARIUS FILII DEI” which is Latin for “Vicar of the Son of God”. Catholics hold that the church, which is a visible society, must have a visible head. God’s people have a seal of the living God, as seen in Revelation 7:2-3. “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: … , till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”
The servants of God have God’s seal in their foreheads, but what have they done to get the seal? Revelation 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” The people of God are in obedience to God’s commandments. But what are His commandments? It is the 10 commandments which is written in Exodus 20:3-17. Many professed Christians claim that because of Jesus we no longer have to keep God’s law. But the Bible says otherwise…
Matthew 5:17-19 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 19:17 “And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”
John 14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

Jesus made it clear the law of God is still valid. The Bible also says in James 2:10 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” So we must obey all of the 10 commandments. What they fail to realize is that the sabbath has already been established at creation, when no human being ever lived except for Adam and Eve. Jesus Himself stated that the sabbath is for the benefit of mankind. Mark 2:27 “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:” Jesus did not say it’s “just for the Jews”, He said it was for all mankind!

You see, government declarations or documents must always bear an official seal of approval in them for them to be considered valid. What are the features of this seal? According to both ancient and modern law, the seal must have 3 distinct features to be considered valid. They are…
1. The name of the official
2. The title of the official
3. The territory of the official
God has a kingdom as well as a document containing the Law for that kingdom. When we look into the Law, we see the seal in the fourth commandment. It says, Exodus 20:11 “For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth…” We see the 3 distinct features of an official seal..
1. His name= The Lord
2. His title= Creator
3. His territory= Heaven and Earth
So the seal reads, “The Lord, Creator, of Heaven and Earth.”
When we keep holy the sabbath day, we acknowledge the Lord is God, and that He is the Creator who created all that ever exists.
The Mark of the Beast
We know that Satan desires to be worshipped as a god. In order for that to happen, he must get humanity to pay homage to him. Problem is, how can he do that if humanity worships the true Creator God in keeping His holy sabbath day? So he set up a counterfeit sabbath, in which when the professed Christians keep holy they pay homage to Satan regardless of who they claim to worship. This counterfeit sabbath is known today as Sunday observance, which is on the first day of the week. Satan has used the Catholic Church to set up this counterfeit .
