Read today in II Corinthians 3:18: "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
Unfortunately, for me at least, "reflecting the Lord's glory" isn't one of my strong points and, in reality, seldom happens with any predictability or frequency. In fact, normally, the opposite is generally the case.
The result of this lack is, unfortunately, that the world at large has a very negative view of Christianity--and Christ Himself--based on what they see--or rather don't see--in Christians such as myself. i remember a quote from Mahatma Gandhi: "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." How sad--and how true!
Paul again states, "For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.; To the one we are the smell of death; to the other the fragrance of life." (II Corinthians 2:15-16a)
i'm afraid that in my case, at least, the operational aroma flow is reversed.
LORD HAVE MERCY!
