On the table a sweet warm pie
Some vegetables and meat
“Come” said the spider to the fly
“Come here my friend and eat”
So is the devil, so his ploy
Seeking slyly his prey
All men all women, girl and boy
Tempting us night and day
He’s never as we think he’ll be
Horns with eyes of fire
But what we long what eyes would see
What lustful hearts desire
Not our dislikes, things we hate
Things no longer please us
But things we love and cannot wait
Anything but Jesus
Just think awhile if this is true
Is sin’s still your delight?
Is Jesus speaking now to you?
To end your foolish fight
Grace is calling, love is wooing
Christ’s arms are open wide
Quit the wayward things you’re doing
Believe and come inside
Come as you are, just as you stand
Regardless of your shame
Come to Jesus, give Him your hand
Escape hell’s pending flame
God’s no spider, nor you a fly
True love’s awaiting you
Christ’s few will kiss this world goodbye
For endless life anew…..
