With grief and sorrow God will take away the hedge. The fields will be burned and become unproductive. The protective hand of God will be removed. America will be overrun and trampled down. In all her power, she will dry up in the record book of history and be blown away like the chaff. The nation has said:
“We do not need God. Let us cast off His bonds and be free. Let us walk the way we desire and do whatsoever things we desire.”
When calamity has come, they have cried:
“Where was God when this happened? Where was His restraining hand.”
In sorrow we respond:
“You cast Him from your land, customs, streets, minds, and hearts. You mocked and scorned His prophets and His ministers. Why do you ask “where was He?” He was where you wanted Him to be. He was out of your land, out of your sight, out of your minds, and out of your hearts. Eventually His withholding hand when with Him. This is what you wanted. You wanted a nation without God. Now you have one. And now you mourn?”
We have seen in the last few years that He has removed His restraining hand.
