Some come to church and want to cry
They moan they groan and say
Its not the same as days gone by
When Jesus came my way
The ministry is not the same
The service that we bring
The way we worship Jesus’ name
The modern songs we sing
The waving hands the stamping feet
Receiving bread and wine
Hugging each other when we meet
When shaking hands was fine
What’s happened to the atmosphere?
The formal way of prayer
The way we showed our Godly fear
Through what we had to share
There’s so much laughter going on
Dancing within the aisles
Even when praising God’s own Son
The church is full of smiles
Who’s walk has brought them through Life’s Door
Who’ve whiled beneath The Tree
God’s Bread just as His Dew before
Comes to His children free
The gifts we have our talents too
The seed God’s had to sow
Are for uplifting of the few
For Jesus bride to grow
So now we know one fact is true
However much you grieve
The old’s no better than the new
Be grateful and receive
