The lost

I've been thinking lately what it's like Spiritually, to be trying to save someone. I was thinking it's really like a battle. Not against the unsaved person but against the powers that have claim over the person.

Imagine you, in armor with a broard sword. You're in an empty sort of space like void, and you stand on a dark ground. On your side there's a bright white light, and it's shinning from behind you and around you. Then, imagine the unsaved person in armor as well also with a sword. Around them and behind them is darkness. But when you look into their face, it is not they who fight you. There's pain in their face, and they seek what you have. You see the need that is in their heart in their eyes. Around them are invisible powers which push and pull them to fight you. The powers move their arms and legs to attack. You come against them sword to sword, and you look into each others eyes. They look like a child begging to be released, their heart crying for help, and you are the one who the Father brings to fight the powers that bind them.

I was thinking, that the ones who will be saved are the ones who's spirits are crying out this way. The thing is they don't know they are crying out that way. From deep inside there is something yearning, that they don't know of. Sometimes they do know of it. They just don't have the answer. There is a need that they cannot satisfy. The cannot find what they need. That's why they are called "lost".

I've been thinking about this because recently I have seen this in someone. I saw a cry in their eyes that came from their heart. Once you've seen that, it's almost impossible to ignore it. Luke 19:10 says For the Son of man came to seek and to save that what was lost. Once we become a part of Christ we too seek what was lost. God saves, but God uses us to save. We pray for these unsaved. We pain. When we learn to pain as Christ did, we have reached a goal. To pain as Christ, is to love as Christ for the lost. The Father teaches us to reach out to the lost.

Strive for the lost. Seek out the lost. They are the sons and daughters who the Father is yearning to see coming home.
