Thursday, December 04, 2008, 2:00 p.m. – I was listening to the Christian Contemporary music channel on my TV while I ate lunch and then while I took a 20 minute rest break after getting my tooth drilled on by the dentist. These are the songs that stood out to me:
“Saved by Love” / Amy Grant
“Give Me Your Eyes” / Brandon Heath
“The Great Divide” / Point of Grace
“You are Everything” / Matthew West
“Bless the Broken Road” / Selah
The last song was playing at the end of my rest time. This is THE VISION the Lord gave me during my rest period:
I saw Barack Obama. Then there was a pause in time. Then I had an image of me putting food down the garbage disposal. The wooden spoon I was using to shove the food down inside the disposal then got caught in the disposal blades and it splintered into pieces.
Then I saw a human hand. The fingers looked like they were splintered, as though each of the fingers was split in half and there were 10 instead of five. The hand was positioned over top of the garbage disposal with the fingers pointing downward toward the disposal opening. Then, there was another pause.
Next I saw a foot pedal like one used with a piano to either soften the notes or to sustain the notes. END. Then, as I recorded this part of the vision, this song was playing on the TV channel: Speechless / Steven Curtis Chapman
Words fall like drops of rain
My lips are like clouds
I say so many things
Trying to figure You out
But as mercy opens my eyes
My words are stolen away
With this breathtaking view of Your grace
And I am speechless, I'm astonished and amazed
I am silenced by Your wondrous grace
You have saved me
You have raised me from the grave
And I am speechless in Your presence now
I'm astounded as I consider how
You have shown us
A love that leaves us speechless
So what kind of love could this be
That would trade heaven's throne for a cross
And to think You still celebrate
Over finding just one who was lost
And to know You rejoice over us
The God of this whole universe
It's a story that's too great for words
Oh, how great is the love
The Father has lavished upon us
That we should be called
The sons and the daughters of God
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Psalm 20-21:
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.
Selah
4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
9 O LORD, save the king!
Answer us when we call!
My Understanding: This is about Barack Obama. The Lord is saying that some trust in chariots and horses, i.e. man-made leaders, but we trust in the name of the Lord. The Lord is saying that Barack Obama will be brought to his knees and fall, but those who are the Lord’s will rise up and stand firm.
Jesus giveth us the victory. He who overcame on Calvary, overcomes again in you and me. Hallelujah! Jesus gives the victory!! (A.B. Simpson 1843-1919)
One of my granddaughter’s drew me a picture yesterday of God’s creation, but what she drew was two trees. One tree was large, full and stood tall and strong. Then, she placed a smaller tree next to that one and it was falling, she said. I noticed it was leaning (bowing over) toward the strong tree (Jesus and his bride). I believe the smaller tree that is falling represents kingdoms of men and the large strong tall tree represents an eternal kingdom without end where Jesus will reign for ever and ever.
Psalm 21: O LORD, the king rejoices in your strength.
How great is his joy in the victories you give!
2 You have granted him the desire of his heart
and have not withheld the request of his lips.
Selah
3 You welcomed him with rich blessings
and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
length of days, for ever and ever.
5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great;
you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
6 Surely you have granted him eternal blessings
and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the LORD;
through the unfailing love of the Most High
he will not be shaken.
8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies;
your right hand will seize your foes.
9 At the time of your appearing
you will make them like a fiery furnace.
In his wrath the LORD will swallow them up,
and his fire will consume them.
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
their posterity from mankind.
11 Though they plot evil against you
and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed;
12 for you will make them turn their backs
when you aim at them with drawn bow.
13 Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength;
we will sing and praise your might.
My Understanding: The Lord has promised he will use an instrument (the wooden spoon) of judgment on his people for their idolatry (the garbage) but then once he accomplishes his purposes for that instrument of judgment, he will pass his judgment on the instrument, as well, which is why the spoon (the human instrument) was destroyed; broken into pieces.
The hand, thus, that was hanging over the disposal and that had multiple fingers was the hand of God for God is a triune God. In his wrath he will swallow up his enemies (like in the garbage disposal). It is the right hand of Almighty God that is pointing downward at his enemies. It says here that the Lord will aim at them with drawn bow. I have a sense that each finger pointing down represents and arrow of divine judgment that is going to come against the enemies of God.
Lastly, the image of the soft pedal on the piano (piano meaning “soft”) is this:
And I am speechless, I'm astonished and amazed
I am silenced by Your wondrous grace
You have saved me
You have raised me from the grave
And I am speechless in Your presence now
I'm astounded as I consider how
You have shown us
A love that leaves us speechless
