The Light is threatening to those who walk in Darkness

When people walk strongly and firmly in the Lord, you notice it, you don't really even have to ask them if they are Christian. It's apparent.

I have always believed in God through our Saviour Jesus Christ but it's only relatively recently that I have reaffirmed that and lived it.

Since then, all manner of things have happened. Without telling some people of my strengthened relationship with God, I've had them behave in hateful ways towards me which has seemingly come out of nowhere.

In other cases, people have just stopped talking to me when they have known I have Jesus in my life. I'm not talking casual acquaintances here but people who I've considered friends. They've just upped and walked away or chosen to ignore me.

Very recently I ceased contact with a couple of people who were in my life. If I'm honest, I could have handled it better in terms of breaking off that contact but I just knew that who they are wasn't in keeping with where I know God wants me to be.

The level of venom I encountered by doing so was unreal, it all spewed out. Hearing people who espouse their own brands of spirituality speaking in such a way, peppering their responses with the foulest of language was a real eye-opener for me. I am glad they're no longer in my life as there was so much darkness there.

I'm not perfect, to be fair only one human being ever was and is. I'm a sinner. I make mistakes, I'm fallible. As I've said, I could have broken ties with these people in a less forthright way but I think their responses would have been pretty much the same.

I can't pretend I wasn't hurt by all that was said because I was. The harshest part was that all the things I had said in private to them was thrown back at me and used to wound and in some ways, it did. It stung horribly in fact.

What it all boils down to though is how the light of truth (Jesus) becomes such a threat to fear and darkness (Satan) and those who walk in Fear often cannot see it or perhaps choose not to see it so even when someone as myself, an ordinary person who's sinned begins to get close to Love (the Lord) it becomes overwhelmingly threatening to them.

God is Love. Satan is Fear. Satan is the great deceiver who can wrap things up in such an attractive package that you even begin to believe that what you have in front of you is true, is real however it's not. It pales woefully in comparison with the light of truth which is God.

To many who walk in darkness, it's better to try and attack the light by keeping their eyes shrouded drawing others further into it with them than actually admit they are wrong and walk towards that light. Humans don't like being wrong and often want to do things their way so will do all kinds of things to make themselves believe in their own righteousness.

Earthly and heavenly salvation can only come from walking with the Lord and embarking on a walk with Him and that comes from shedding all the artifice however real it may appear and standing before God and not running and hiding. By admitting one's mistakes and asking Him for a New Life, for Forgiveness only then can we be healed, only then can we begin our walk into the wonders of Light and Truth.
