The Kinsman Redeemer

Boaz a Kinsman Redeemer & foreshadow of the Lord Jesus

The Kinsman Redeemer had to be a relative (Jesus humanity is qualifier) have the resources (Ps 24:1 & Ps 50:10 qualifiers) & willingness to redeem (Gal 1:4, 3:13, Tit 2:14 qualifier).

The book of Ruth is traditionally read during Pentecost. Ruth, a gentile woman who was chosen on the night of Pentecost. Boaz was a wealthy landowner Boaz from the tribe of Judah. A Kinsman redeemer/foreshadow of Jesus Christ our redeemer. Later, Ruth & Boaz have a son, Obed. Obed was the grandfather of King David.

Ruth 3:9 And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
(MY NOTE: The skirt Ruth asks Boaz to cover her with, is also know as a talith. It signified being placed under his wing of protection)

At conversion, Christ throws/covers the believer with His takith/skirt/Holy Spirit, immersing/baptizing believers with His eternally indwelling, salvation sealing, wing/Holy Spirit of protection. Amen & Amen

The only pre-marital action required of a Jewish Bride. Was to undergo a full mikvah prior to her wedding. The word mikvah means a pool of living water which was used for ritual purification. This immersion in water was a physical preparation for the wedding ceremony. The mikvah was also a requirement for conversion to judaism & represented a separation from the old life to a new life (sound familiar). Someone who was impure or ceremonially unclean before immersion would be pure/ceremonially clean after rising from their immersion in a mikvah.

Christ's is the True Living Water (Jn 4:10, 6:35, 7:37-39, Jer 17:13, Ps 36:7-9), His Holy Spirit baptism is the spiritual old to new life born again transformation.

Jn 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
(MY NOTE: All the Samaritan woman had to do was ASK. All anyone need do, is believe in Christ's sin atoning death & resurrection & ASK Him into their heart!)
