The Hypostatic Union is the two natures of Christ. This is an important topic because only the death of a God-man could turn away the Father's wrath from the elect.

The Hypostatic Union:

Christ as a man:
- "And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God." (Mark 15:39)
- "Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!" (John 19:5)
- "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." (Luke 2:52 Emphasis mine)
- "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8 Emphasis mine)
- "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." (Luke 24:39)
Christ as a God-man:
- "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9)
- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
